Hi Recently i blow my front HID light, can anyone share the cost of changing ?? I am exploring the cost as i do not wish to kena chop chop....Thanks in advance

I suggest you do a search in the forum. There are lots of info on retrofitting HIDs for various models covering information such as places where it can be done, problems encountered, tips on what to look out for, options or variations of HID and of course the price. Many have done this and posted.

Thanks for your advise, now i am running with one light and normally the sky is dark when i leave my office. The soonest i am planning to change it is by tomorrow or else SG police will issue me a summon thus the fastest way is to ask direct rather to search due to running out of time.

If you have good info, please share with me ...Thx in advance..

Anthony, you can easily get the bulb replacement from bavarian auto.

Hope it is not the ballast.

Thanks Jarance,

I just get a quote from my mechanic, RM 310. RM 265 if include workmanship is consider cheap tho...I will get a quote from AB JB

Any way, this thread might be useful to others to compare the price and not get slaughter by those untruthful mechanics....

Thanks again!!

Guys, unlike filament bulb, HID doesn't blow because there is no filament. That said, the bulb itself rarely break, they just get weaken over time. Most HID failures would be the ballast or igniter. Just sayin, cheers.

Hi anthony, mine (e46) running with one light also previously, susupected either d2-s bulb or the ignitor gone, but, luckily when i opened up the ballast cover, i can see traces of water inside. Manage to clean it with electronic contact cleaner and dry it up with hair dryer + sunbathing for half day, and it works again... Save me a lot huh! For d2-s bulb i got quote rm 110 each at normal car accessory shop, maybe taiwan or china brand laa...

The easiest way to check is to swap the bulbs if you have sealed teh ballast.

If the "broken" bulb lights up, then it is the other ballast that is gone.

Do this first. It will save you money.

Thank You very much Guys!!! very appreciate all your feed back.

One innocent question, where is the ballast ??.
