Zoggy Zog,

Ha. You mean new 750 E32 disc is diffult to find? My fren just quoted me about RM200+ a piece (i think) wor. Logic or not?

Car is in workshop now, may get it and try try to fit later today if got time.
I think naza2 meant the calipers are hard to find.... but if you have the connections like zog, they should be easy to find.... I think zog practically lives in a treasure trove of BMW parts.... :D

Oh I see. Perhaps coz my fren was hunting hi and low before he found the 750 disc. And he himself is a sparepart dealer some more.

armereth, the discs are easy to find. Just replaced mine (few months back)with a new Lemforder made discs. RM 400

As for brake pads, try texstar. I was told the m5 brake pads are made by Texstar. Replaced mine with Jurid and the difference is day and night. Braking power has reduced quite a bit :(

ok.. i got something in the bag..

i know someone who has changed his e34m5 brake setup to brembo 4-pot. the set includes calipers and discs. the only problem.. he won't sell it!!! i tried hard, very hard but he won't budge.

so arms... if you got an offer, let me know. i'll ask him if he's interested to sell.... again. :D

teejay.. you suck!

Albuddy,

Lemforder made disc? Hmmmm wonder do they have saiz 345 X 32 or not? Any contacts??? And thanks for the info on abt Texstar. I thinkg mine need to be replaced already. Got humming sound when braking hard

Naza2

Yes Yes Please. Although I am not actively hunting for disc but I dont mind to get in touch with him. Boleh kah? :dunno: Btw, why fr M5 to Brembo? I would think M5 brake is better isnt it?

fulamak....m5 setup.....which set is it, 3.6 or 3.8? front and rear setup?

arms.. i'll find out for you if he likes the brembo better. he kept the m5setup as spare just in case the brembo does not perform. it's the 3.8 setup. he changed just the fronts.

oh btw, the engine is a 6-throttle... it has m-power engraved. cool huh?

teejay... dont suck too much. it could add to your waist size. hahahah

you mean you are talking from experience ka?.....hahahah!!!

wonder i will recognise you when i see you.....hahahaha!!!

gemuk gilar kut......

Hi Arm, just a thought, if your car doesnt feel like the discs are warped maybe you should just try different pads, sometimes too hard pads can also make the horrible grinding sounds.

Maybe can save some $$$ haha. Check your calipers too if they need to be rebuilt, if your pads are worn, the pistons will be further out and that may cause some vibration, how about the pad backing plates, are they still there?

Regards.

Alpina B9

AlpinaB9,

Yes its possible. After searching for more info, I tend to believe that the pad is causing the "shimy" (hope I got the right term). Albundy suggested texstar pad but I dont have the time to look at it yet. I also didnt try on the 750i disc as the mech is very busy that day.

What is pad backing plates? Any pics?

Cheers

Its the thin Mutilayer plates between the pads and the caliper pistons to prevent sounds and slight vibration.

aiya guys...Today,I've just thrown away the E32 750il rear subframe.

Sorry the diff is mine.... :) LSD la.. :)

Alpina B9,

Oh Ok. I think I got to get someone to check for me then. Maybe M Speed coz I am going there this coming friday. Btw, who can rebuild brake system?

Zoggy Zog,

Throw away lsd!!!!

*smack kau zoggee head* :D Next time, give to charity lah!!

arms,

which part of the system do you plan to rebuild?

1. if the brake calipers, provided it has a rebuild kit ( rubbers, pistons, seals, washers), can be done at your current mech
2. if it is the master cylinder, some models have the rebuild kit, others if sealed, it has to be replaced
3. brakes hoses, you can replace with factory or stainless steel braided - this has been discussed before on the good, the bad, the make no difference argument sometime back
4. servo - replace with current model, or double vaccum chamber type

suggest if you rebuild with the repair kit, better do it for all the calipers both front and rear

Teejay,

Thanks. Very imformative.

I actully have no plan to rebuild anything as it is Ok right now. Just humming sound when braking hard. So tought of getting some pad only. Furthermore it is already a year since my last brake pad change. But I am in a lookout if any goo deals come around like Naza fren's M5 kit. :D

Cheers
