To be honest, my colleague just complained that his 08' stream has a strange sound from his power steering pump, jammed brake pistons and undercarriage noise..brought it to w.shop and was quoted about 1k plus only for the pump, i think it could cost him more if all issues are to be solved..and when he asked me about UDM maintenance, i confidently say that it comes about the same since we are looking for perfection..and i think he has started falling for UDM....hehe, sounds like racun has got into him...

Fortunately and unfortunately there is always someone FULL of passion who would never FAIL to rebut any comment that do not meet his own view.

If you are picking up a used BMW, always be prepared to spend about 6-12mths to slowly fix everything(as some of them may surface later), then everything will be all right.

I bought a very good condition used car from AB, guess what, the 1st yr I also have to visit AB to bring it back to a perfect condition, after that it's just routine oil change for the 2nd yr. The 3rd year are some normal wear and tear.

Yes, this car does need more care, because it's more complicated in both mechanic and electronics. Eventually, it may spend you more time and money, but whe your car is well maintained, it's not a same year Japanese car can match in anyway.

My cuntchill gives me the Joy and sheer driving pleasure of Ultimate Driving Machine.

This is a bmw forum? Have to agree with most it's about passion cause that's what we want in our cars as compared to mostly soulless jap cars. I can tell you that a 20 year old bmw would drive better than any brand new japanese or korean car.

Mine also Banyak Masuk Workshop la. Was thinking of adding another bimmer but no after experiencing such trauma. So sticking with vios as 3rd car now, very reliable and I need it when send my bimmers for repairs.

the only way you could enjoy a BMW is when the grant is out of the bank. then you'll never compromise even if you need to replace your engine oil every single month .. :)

I own a used 2003 e39 few years back & guess what...the first 18 months maintainance cost (can buy a new viva already) is more than the total maintainance cost for my last 4 cars. Struggling to change to accord, camry or sonata but after test drive, can't get the BMW feel. I think this is the cost for a BMW owner to pay.

For me it is about our preference.. We make our own choice, either proton saga BLM or BMW.
The price different is close to 10 times... It sound crazy... So am i a crazy person?

Totally agree with you mate. I bought my first UDM, an E46 318i, a 5 year old car. second year onwards for 14 months regularly visiting workshop. Now after 6 years of ownership very rarely goes in except for wear & tear replacements or service. Now going to hand over to the wife and it will be our standby replacement car since I now collected my current UDM.

Good for you mate! What's your new ride?

My time is close,(

I would rather refer my BMW as 'Bring More Women' :8: or 'Best Man Wheels' :driver:.

Sorry Sorry spidey! Just saw your avatar, 325 M sport huh? Great stuff!

Yes mate and enjoying every minute of it. Only thing is that since I got my ride I have been travelling overseas so much that have not had much time to really enjoy the drive. Just clocked 2000km and cant wait to get back to JB to drive her again. I am currently in Denmark and will be home on Sunday.

Although my E46 is 11 years old now, it is just as nice to drive and I really love the shape. Planning to send it in to the workshop next week to change the gearbox and engine seals, slight leak. A good service and then officially hand over to the wife.
