The good thing about progress over the years - the highways and Air Asia.
Remember the trunk roads to travel to Penang, Ipoh, Kuantan... eternity spent in the car asking"Are we there yet?".
Now, it takes us only 2.5 hours to get to Kuantan instead of 6-8 hours (the days when you had to take ferries across the Pahang river).

......not forgetting the "mobile phone" we know of was none other than the "MOBIRA" which comes packed in a 10kg block that you have to lug around that costs an arm-and-a-leg and only the super rich could afford them. Imagine those days, you feel proud carrying around those huge black blocks which if during this current times you would not want to be caught dead with holding anything larger than your palm.

Yup...the ATUR...those days gaya....go to disco with a mobile phone attached to a "car battery". My 1st cell phone cast me $6,500 ...Motorola "brick" phone...also substituted for a hammer or weapon.

Oh god... then your phone rings in the car and the car goes "honk, honk, honk!!!" till u answer it!!!

Song of the day ...

SCORPION - When Will The Smoke Go Down ..

Music :rudolf schenker
Lyrics:klaus meine

Just when you make your way back home
I find some time to be alone
I go to see the place once more
Just like a thousand nights before
I climb the stage again this night
’cause the place seems still alive
When the smoke is going down

This is the place where I belong
I really love to turn you on
I’ve got your sound still in my ear
While your traces disappear
I climb the stage again this night
’cause the place seems still alive
When the smoke is going down

I climb the stage again this night
’cause the place seems still alive
When the smoke is going down
When the smoke is going down
When the smoke is going down

Dancing In The dark
Bruce Springstein

This the muisc video where Courtney Cox Made her first TV debut as one of the girls dancing in front of the stage whe Mr Bruce was singing. She got pulled up to stage and dancedwith Mr Bruce... remembere guys... she had short hair and all...

Lyrics
I get up in the evening
And I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man, I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby I could use just a little help

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer
Radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man, I ain't getting nowhere just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
Baby I just know that there is

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire

Remember the road from TTDI to Kepong single lane without street lights, now it's called LDP.

It used to take me about 30min to get to Kepong during peak hours. Now with 3 lanes and RM1 toll, it's still takes me 30mins..... :dunno:
