hvb....thx for the quick reply.

mine is clocking at 188100km. A e39 523 d.vanos made in 1999. So far so good. Fc meter at 10.8km. So far so good.

go ahead pull the trigger the worst could happen ur ass just gets bigger.damn that rymes.mine's at 360k.got a full rebuilt plus pot and polish with stage 3 engine balancing cost me bout 12grands.but my baby gonna blaze as soon as she down.

cousin just got a year 2000 528 at 113K mileage.. changed cracked cylinder head plus top overhaul, change cooling system plus all the wear and tear bits.. spent around $12K+ ... but now she is smooth as silk and can do 400km's for a $100 ringgit fill ... no regrets wt the e39 from all aspects.. GO FOR IT ...

My '96 528i just turned 404,000km as of last Saturday coming back from Penang.Engine is still original. Gearbox was overhauled by the previous owner at 312,000kms. It does consume about a liter of engine oil every 5,000kms,though.

Buy one and maintain it properly like you would any other brand, and you can see mileages similar to mine, if not more.

thx guys.....
ravi love your avatar....what's the celebration lighting up a cigar?

hey ravi, at what mileage did u do your rebuild?
and why, just itchy for more power or was your ride eating oil?

i

My 02 520 just turned 60k km. Still a virgin by comparison. Need a good hammering once in a while to loosen her up a bit.....

8 years car for only 60k? wow...did you buy your UDM and just keep her in the garage?
hehehe...just kidding.

howe, i got my 2002 156 wt only 23000miles on the clock last november... but paid premium price..car smells like showroom still, underused. there are some gems out there if you patiently find... took me a year plus..

in the 6 years ownership of my 328, i;ve only done 57000kms to date, now 170,000kms after 13 years. despite being one of my daily rides... so its possible for some of us who work near to home.. and sayang our rides very muchi ;)

i also viewed and test drove an e46 330i SMG year 2002 yday wt only 60K kms on the clock.. but GB sounded and felt dodgy :(

Ravi's baby is gonna feel like a brand new car when it comes back from the workshop,

Mine is a 530i Sport year 2003, mileage is at 120,150 miles (193,362km). I got it at 117,000 miles. UK car so understandably high mileage. From the service log it seems that it has been serviced by the schedule so everything seems fine...another service coming soon though.

My car hit 200,000 km yesterday, so now officially old junk hehe.

No prob with high mileage as long you change oil frequently & well maintained.

My oldie e39 is 1997 523i model also clocked 200k kms last friday as it is my daily drive but yesterday the engine stalled and couldn't be started...maybe its time to change the fuel pump or crank shaft sensor n the vanos seal as well...will get it diagnosed today...fingers crossed
