Touring cars arent popular with malaysian motorists though,unlike europe

If u check the uk forum, one of the weak point of the 06/07 models are the swirl flaps which were made of plastic and could disintegrate on high speed and cause a blown turbo. Some had their swirl flaps changed to sturdier ones

A best comparison would be when they launch the turbocharged petrol engines, then the comparison wouldn't be 320d faster than 325i but how they save fuel by going to the pumps twice a month only... and for that fact i am envious of the diesel cars. Torque is not the end all be all of performance as we are not all traffic light racers(drag racer). I think this thread felt like some form of gloating and condescending and that got on some members nerves, me included. I also terasa this thread cause i was also outgunned at the traffic light by a 320d but it was not a lack of effort on my part but i was unaware i was "racing" and i smelled the smoke as my aircond was circulating outside air. The worse is still "some" gti drivers though, crazy and always thinking the world is "racing" against them.

The 320d is a great car value for money performer but please don't ram it down our throats like some gti owners, please don't be that "guy"... i don't see 335i owners making threads they tapau m3's even though we all know for a fact some heavily tuned 335i's can "tapau" m3's in a straight line.

Totaly agree with u....Hehehehehe.....lets all just enjoy d ride...even a perodua kancil or kembars has its fun and advantages....we drive the untimate driving machine, but not d ultimate model....maybe d m's....thats another cerita

good to know that UDM drivers can take a few jabs here and there and still remains buds....
can't say the same about other Jap marques (some owners think their ride is much superior in comparison even in stock!!)
Since this is my virgin UDM, I am still learning how to tame the car, learning how to appreciate and caress her curves, where to press/touch/fondle to make her tickle and in turn she would give me a pleasurable ride.. and the reason why I am not taking part in the 320d drives (apart from work commitments) is that I would not want to hold my fellow bros back as I would be the slowest of the lott.......

As I have admitted earlier, I m one of those traffic lights warriors, not because I want to race with the guy next to me, but just want to savor and enjoy the sweet torque made available to me..... to put it in perspective, if you r driving a porsche, would you go slow all the time, or would you let her rip whenever possible?? thinks so too.....

Ok i will admit, i have been sucked into this diesel thing and will research more into diesel for my next car instead of just disregarding it...but only to caompare still too much of a petrol head.

Just want to tell a story about something that happened to my friend, he drives a mercedes e270cdi. So one day he was waiting at a hotel lobby and suddenly a bunch of tourists went inside his car and said "klcc,klcc!"...they thought his car was a taxi cause in europe most e270cdi are taxi's so they just assumed. We always kacau him about that but like the diesel boys here he loves his car to no end. Those curious his is a 2003 model had it since 2008 and no problem so far just he bragging 'bout his fuel economy.

a 2.0 turbo engine @ 1.5barboost pressure is the equivalent of a 3.0 na engine. a 320d really should only be compared to a n/a 3.0 engine and above as i think 320ds now boost at 2.0 bar? but in malaysia who knows, maybe its still only 1.5bar . and when you look at it that way , the 320d really is below average in terms of its output. which makes sence, cause in the RoW its used as a fleet car and is valued for its economy and not perfromance. most of the guys who shout about how good it is, are probably new to owning a car with this level of power and torque, hence they are blown away with the performance. so i suggest, the rest of you, who know what driving a 3.0 and above feels like, let it slide.....

i will always be in the camp that nothing sounds like a bmw inline six and there will always be 1 in my garage.

its just different strokes for different folks.

I know bro, that's why I ALWAYS let them pass..... give them the "satisfaction" their ride can tarpau a UDM and bragging rights in other forums....
furthermore I know what my ride is capable of and there is no point to show off (not to these buggers anyways)
at the end of the day, I have a certified UDM in my garage, and not a wannabe who has lost its identity....
