nola namidub, I was meaning my 518i on half throttle overtake. my unker M5 not so easy. i remember on mex highway had a run with a 320i, only when my vtec kicked in, could I overtake. for a 4 potter, the diesel tech is really amazing. :)

abang2 ///M different class lah. cannot compete maa.

Hahaha. Busy with work bro. That's why unable to make it for the Kulim drive+visit last weekend too.

I also smile when i meet 320d, 325i, 530i, GTi, FD2, A4 and etc :eating: :4:

Hehehe but seriously though no doubt 320d is an amazing car, loads of torque and amazing fuel economy ... Would love to own one when it's more affordable in a few years time.

But wait a while when the "clack, clack, clack,....." gets louder and you get surrounded by black dense smoke with age, and the maintenance cost goes thru the roof and no one wants to buy your used 320D cos of the damage done by our bad diesel, then tell us your experience.......heheheh

Was told recently that the used market is having trouble moving e90 320d and 320, probably due to he huge numbers.

Diesel drivers think everybody is racing with them, when actually they just want to overtake quickly so that their car don't kena diesel soot cause just wash car.

Hey, someone's gotta pop the kerosene bubble.

Derv Rules.....

if I may, let me answer the question, What’s the fuss of owning 320d compared to my previous ride?

The fuss is that I’m eager to leave earlier in the morning and later at night when the traffic is lighter so that I could stretch her legs…
The fuss is that I’m taking the longer route to and from work each day to spend more time smiling..
The fuss is that I would obey the rules at traffic lights so that I could be the first in-line to sprint away then it turns green…
The fuss is that I could not remember where and when and not bothered to track the last time I filled her up…
The fuss is that the torque is so addictive that I have demoted my other cars to the sidelines and does not excite me anymore…
And the main fuss is that….. when kena cucuk on the highway (especially the myvis and neos), the torque will always leave them speechless………

excellent feedback, truly agree on that. Add power kit, even better

oh yeah, now that i read the topic properly.

whats the fuss of owning 320d compared to my previous ride?

my previous ride was nothing to shout about.
it was my 1st car, paid from my first job paycheque.
3 years running the Racy Red Peugeot 206 1.4 aka Naza Bestari.
the 1.4 SOHC engine is slightly underpowered, with stock 14" (then with taiwan 15") rims.
it wasn't the fastest car (obviously at 75hp) but i enjoyed driving the car especially at corners.
The handling is much better than similar class cars (neo, myvis, city, myvi)
peugeot wasn't expensive to maintain and had a 3 sweet years running it,until itchy hands wanted to get slightly bigger car for "family" purposes.

Now whats the fuss ?

The fuss is i had never felt so confident doing >140 or more at winding roads. e.g karak,Genting sempah which i never had the balls to do before
The fuss is i never had so much fun climbing hilly roads. again > karak,Genting sempah
The fuss is i never felt "Naughty" like this cucukking every possible car on the road except the very powderful ones,
The fuss is how i can smile every time the 380nm torque kicks in
The fuss is how i can feel very safe driving at 230kmh without feeling like the car wanted to explode (haven't got the balls yet to do more than that)
The fuss is how i can overtake more than 5 cars at one time safely knowing the car can make it on time
The fuss is how i can let the other car who beams headlights behind me pass and i overtake him back from the left lane, effortlessly.
The fuss is not needing to refill every now and then when a tankful of "ugly diesel" can take me >700km with spirited driving.
The fuss is every time a modded car (neos, civic) want to test a "bmw 320" which they potentially can eat, left eating dust and black soot.

great car so far.given the price paid.good value for money.
thanks BMW for designing a wonderful 3 series mated to a nice turbocharged 4 potter diesel.
Frugal and powderful.what else can i ask for? :top:
