When my ride on 245/45/17 rim and tyre , I used to clock 600km to 650km anytime .. However when I upgraded to 245/45/18 and the Max I can hit is only ard 550km .. Therefore must say wheel sizes does matter a lot dude ..

The tyre n rim size is the same from the day 1 my car ownership. Therefore I'm also aware that changes on this will make significant changes. Even I change tyre always look for same size as original

bro, ur fc same like mine.. r u gonna do something to it? the foreman of optimum workshop @ kayu ara told me he can do a engine reset to learn back the driving style..

I am not sure about this but maybe you need to calibrate the accelerator position sensor. This happened to my E46 before and it solved the problem after the calibration. But I am not sure if it is with the same system with E60. But no harm trying.

Tyre size does play a role, it's called rolling resistance. A 17" rim & tyre combination will weigh less than an 18" rim & tyre combination. The few kilos difference add up to rolling resistance, the engine and drivetrain will have to work harder to turn a heavier wheel combination.

The solution to counter act this is lightweight rims but will heavy on your pocket, haha

But lightweight cant withstand our dreadly pothole in Malaysia road lei .. Used to buy lightweight rim for my Camry before but ended up the rim dented in less than 8 mths times ...

well. there are pros and cons to lightweight rims...

my E60 running on 18" right now but planning to downgrade to 17" and use 225/50/17 tyres instead of the current 245/40/18, getting old, now want comfortable ride, tried 19" before cannot tahan the bumpiness, fuel consumption was worse on 19"...
