From the perspective as a founding member,
This forum was started for several reasons:
1. To allow the convergence and growth of a Malaysian BMW community of enthusiasts. A place for Malaysian BMW enthusiast to gather and share ideas, info and experiences about their rides and their experiences with the brand.
2. To gain international recognition via the WWW and to be placed alongside other international BMW clubs.
Over the years, the community we have created here has experienced tremendous growth and all members, official or otherwise should be proud to be a part of this online community.
It is a priceless tool for the sharing of technical and social information in all things BMW with a uniquely Malaysian perspective. We have a well structured forum that we can be proud of.
However, there have been individuals that have been using this community as a source of personal entertainment and this is something that the administrators should look into with both gloves on. What happened to our moderators?
It seems that we have created a special vehicle with no specialists to govern and service it effectively.
On this note, I would also like to urge all forumers, official or otherwise, to spare some personal initiative in this area. This forum and community belongs to us and we should monitor and guard it's contents and members with vigilance.
This is our house, should we stand on the sidelines and laugh anonymously whilst immature and potentially destructive individuals come into our house and proceed to throw mud on our walls?
At this juncture, I would like to encourage all of us to become more pro-active in governing this forum. It is our house, let's look after it. We are on the WWW and our audience in not restricted to Malaysians only. What would our fellow enthusiasts from other countries think of us when the surf our forum and are able to see the tom-foolery that sometimes precipitates in some of the threads?
If we want to earn respect, we must at first learn to respect each other. We need to display some sense of professionalism and discipline.
Malaysia Boleh, but we should 'Boleh' where it counts and not otherwise.
I would also like to take this oppotunity to express my appreciation to all who have selfishly shared their technical knowledge , ideas and energy in driving this forum to dynamic heights. Thanks guys....:top:
