Want to buy E39, any advice?

Wah very good la you..I can hardly ever go below 140kmh on a clear road in mine.

This is only see how you use your can only. So i need to look to the meter always for driving 110km/h. It is very hard to achieve this speed.............hahhaahhahahahahh

Hi everyone. Thanks for the feedback so far. Will definitely read on the Guide to E39 as posted.
Thanks for shedding some light after 2000, 525i and before 523i. I am very tempted to buy one soon, but will only be able to afford below 50k now. Also pretty difficult finding a good one now with low mileage. Thinking if I should wait till the end of the year and buy at least a yr 2000 525i instead.

If i tell you that i bought a car from this shop which is accident free and super super good condition, it's sounds like i am talking abit over. But you can come to Puchong Jaya and see how good my car's condition is. You can view and believe what i am talking about.

My car is 523 year 1999 UK spec and the price is RM58k. I just bought it Jan 2011.

just get e39 with m54 engine. end up with 3 choices 2.2, 2.5, 3.0

don't worry about the price coz the car can last long n it's better than e60

forget the m52 engine.

I only maintained the speed cruising to 110km/h .......if not then is 90 to 110 km/h without cruising.

BMW designed the e39 for high speed cruising along their autobahn. However, your cruising of 90 to 110 km does not do any justice to your 6 potters e39.

same goes to the owners of e60, its their preference and its a newer car. each to his own.

but for me, I'll keep my e39 forever and save some money until i can afford an F10.

bro . msia.. i have just let go my e30 1997 523i.. its in a mint condition. . buy and drive only . i spend a lot of penny to keep the car up to date inclusive of new paint , new absorber and m5 body kit Cw m6 foldable mirror and etc . if u are intrested . PM me .. it no more with me , its with a dealer in melaka.

I wish that car is owned by any forumerr here so that i can still look at it.. seriously its a good buy . if i m not mistaken.. the price range is aroun 40k-42k.

I second that . E39 is certainly a class to be proud off and not to mention its performance. If i have extra penny , i would wana to buy my e39 back from the dealer.

I think typo error...should be e39 and not e30. Based on description of your car and now priced 40 -42k, it is certainly a good buy.

Is it you are meaning to when reach 140km/h then the valuetronic activate is like Toyota VVTI valve adjustment ?If like that very easy jek mah ...........you dont turn to 5th gear then you pull until shong shong also same loh..................hahahahahahhahahaha

Sometimes it amazed me why people would want to own a 6 potters BMW and not driving it the way it was originally designed for. Oh sorry for my ignorance.......what is vvti and is toyota a car?

VVTI is Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. Is 1 of the valve adjustment with reach certain RPM. Is also like BMW valvetronic. Different between this 2 technologies are the way they adjust the value are different. Both also apply same concept.

Somemore vvti got intelligence. Why our BMW got no intelligence? Is it because the german designers/engineers forgotten to put intelligence into our BMW? Then BMW technologies not so advance. Can you suggest how we can made/modify our BMW to be more intelligent?

I didnt say BMW no intelligence, which of the sentence i wrote saying BMW no intelligence ? "Variable Valve Timing with intelligence" is the full form of VVTI. Can you read the sentence clearly ? Since BMW value adjustment is call valvetronic then you can suggest "BMW Advance Valvetronic Intelligence " and the short form is BMW AVI. hahahahahahahha
