Merry xmas and Happy new year fello guys........Lately Im thinking abt Audi A4 over BMW f30 320i Petrol after reading all ur guys problems with BMW,let it be the car or the Bmw Mgmt.I dunno how i can take it if my unit comes with problems as a package (since the loan is approved)....so to be in safe side better i opt for Audi even thoughtthere will be all new audi a4 in a couple of years...Any input bros...

the new a4 is a really nice looking car. the front is fresh (oh the day time running strips), the rear is a bit dated though.

however, based on your consideration (picking 320i), i assume you are getting the a4 1.8T?

the driving dynamics of the a4 1.8 is not even close to the 3series. however, it is very comfortable.

if you are getting the a4 2.0, now that, is better than the 328i (in my books). 4 wheel drive traction is ridiculous.

Not a bad car considering Audi has ADS and BMW don't...but driving dynamics would be less than the BMW. Other than that, its a good value.

Better take bmw, believe me you ll regret letter

agreed here. despite the problems with f30, it is a pleasure to drive and a beauty to look at. It's a new model that will last for at least 5 years before the facelift. What could be done to minimise the problem is to do thorough inspection before accepting the car, at least on what you could see such as seat frames, gap at console panels, etc. Also unless they are deaf and blind BMW probably have received many feedbacks by now and might beef up factory QA/QC issues, I say might...in which case good for those who buy later. Just an opinion buddy!

Audi A4 1.8 got CVT gearbox ... so what do you want? A daily drive without problems or you want a car that handles great but does come with problems? That only you can decide la ... I love the Audi interior. So sweet ...

They have ready stock with few colour choice and the best part disc of 14k

+4 years warranty or 120,000km for 2012 car instead of 2 years unlimited km

Spare part n maintenance quite costly plus after sales service even bad....

Buy Audi car 2 years later, Audi Malaysia will be in and more dealership to be appoint at that time, mean more service center

CVT very smooth for town driving and new generation of CVT give great fuel consumption. Only issue with CVT is when rempit, you feel its like rubberband. RPM up fast but speedo not as fast.

which car when newly launches does not have teething problems ?
the Audi A4 uses a old platform I suppose compared with bmw's. somemore front wheel drive versus rear wheel drive. if I wanted a front wheel drive, I rather take the golf gti. by the way, the 320i now comes with turbo same as the Audi. somemore better driving abilities.

Is that due to gearbox or lack of torque?

what is happening to the F30's is that bmw rushed to launch this model fast, hence not much R&D done to the car. further to that with the new tech thrown in plus new suppliers of parts n to top it all, with the world economy at a low down, this might be happening...or I m wrong.

with the F30 thread full of complaints, I really wonder if bmws are now like our proton sagas.

with the F30 prices I pay and feed almost 200% more of the actual price to the goverment, yes I would jump on my dealer or SA.

it's like buying a durian that claims to be musang king but does not taste like it.
