Hi,I have F10 for already 5 months. First time using BMW. Travelling for 10K ++ km. Already went for 1st service. BMW just do engine service and not rotating & balancing the tyre. I went to outside workshop for tyre rotating & balancing but my mech refuse to do. He ask me "you know how to reset or not". He told me that if he take out the tyre there will be a warning come out and the car cannot be start. It that true? Can somebody pls advice... :listen:Thank you.

Can start again but maybe the flat tyre sign will come out after remove n replace/rotate any tyre.. Press the flat tyre reset button for about 30 seconds and all will be fine.

I don't think there are any problems. I removed the wheel to fixed a nail in my run-flat tyre and there were no problems, no warnings whatsoever. I think the mechanism for the flat tyre warning works on the basis of comparing the number of revolutions on one wheel compared to the others (ie if one tyre is flat, its circumference is less hence more revolutions compared to the other tyres). Not exactly sure what will happen if you get all 4 punctures at once :)

I went to do the balancing / rotate tyre but the tyre man afraid to do for BMW. It worried they would be blamed later if there is any dameges. So I need a brave tyreman now.. anybody have mach around Bukit Mertajam that can do?
Thank you in advance.

During my old E60 days there was no problem resetting the flat tyre monitor after changing tyres. Just press the tyre pressure initialization and drive off. I suppose practically F10 will be the same. However the F10’s Owner’s Handbook advises against interchanging the front and rear wheels. Not sure why…front & back tyres are of same size and specs.

I think it is the best to go for someone who knows how to do it as the car is still under warranty. Better play safe than sorry ...........

not so serious la, even every time we re-pump the Tyre pressure, we'll need to re-set the Tyre pressure for the pressure monitoring system, that's all.

You may try Goh Swee Hin at Air Itam Road, Penang. They also do on-wheel balancing.
