Hi guys,Recently I went to tyre shop and did on wheel balancing for F10 520d.What happened was, the tyre guy tried to spin rear tyres and guess what, the DSC error, transmission fault error came out from the meter cluster. I was so freaked out and asked them not to continue the process as it might damage the transmission. Whenever the tyre guy tried to spin the tyre, the parking brake engaged automatically. So my question is, does anyone try on wheel balancing before? is it normal to have error/fault message during the process? Thanks!

never tried this before. have you tried doing the balancing/alignments @ the dealers?

Go to a better tyre shop, which have high speed balancing machine (off wheel). On wheel balancing old tech already.

In my case, the guy tried to do on wheel balance for the rear tyre but he said it was to heavy..

I haven't tried balancing and alignment there yet as I a bit skeptical on their quality of work. But then its not fair to judge that, and I will try one day.

Could you please recommend which shop has this high speed balancing equipment? thanks!

Meaning they said your tyre is heavy or is it hard to spin the rear tyres?

Bro, I'm in Jb. City Tyre Pelangi.
I know this shop. Okay work but not careful enough with rims. Sure have some scratches one. However, the boss is a nice guy!

They said it was hard to spin for the rear tyres. Front tyres should not be a problem:top:

Hi pswchen,
Any recommend other shop in jb you go? Cos I've been with them for 15 years. Thanks.

Currently using stock Goodyear Excellence RFT and clocked 50000km with those with 40 percent threadwear left (suprisingly good). Maybe the tyre itself have gone and caused vibrations.

Planning to change those with normal tyres or change the wheels to 18" or 19". What is the recommended offset for F10?

I did mine. They did it off wheel, no issues. Done in Subang area.

Do note that you must make sure they do front, then rear. reason is that you don't want them to mix up the front with the rear, since in mine (528iM, stock), the rear is slightly wider than the front. No issues, they did a good job.
