@mummygohan: Nope have not been to Kota Damansara lately, I'm based in Malacca. I got my tyres slightly cheaper: front RM800/pc, rear RM1050/pc. But I must admit you got a very good trade-in price for your 17" and RFT. The tyre shop guy wasn't really willing to do a trade-in of my 17" + RFTs, he said malu to quote me a price as I know him quite well haha (too low price I guess), he asked me to sell them off myself to get a better price. I know for a fact that some tyre shops will quote a high price for trade-in, at the same time they will jack up the price of their tyres and rims really high!

@Rimsukan: Haha u r really addicted to HPC huh? My ori rims+tyres are still waiting patiently at home for a new owner, refer to my signature. Do you know anyone looking for 17"? Wow you guys seem to get very good trade-in prices in KL... :top:

i bought this tire inflator (gas-filled can) today for less than rm50 just in case i got a flat tire since I've switched to normal tire. Is that what u guys are using or something else?

Some of them is using the BMW Emergency kit which cost about RM600 that comes with 700ml of sealant, an electric air pump, gloves and user manual.

My friend is selling an European made electric air pump for less than RM150, nicely packed in a canvas enclosure, just like the RM600 stuff minus the sealant..

I think our fear is not real as the slightest deflation of any tyre would trigger the RFT alarm. Then u have a week or 2 to use the deflating tyre because leak will usually be very slow, or shoot straight to the petrol kiosk to fill up the tyre again. It will last u for weeks and u don't need weeks to get to a tyre shop for a patch job.

IMHO, any pressurized can in the car is like a bomb waiting to explode,especially when you leave the parked in hot sun. I would suggest not to leave any pressurized sealed containers inside the car. I had an contractor friend of mine who kept WD40 in his trunk, blew up and dented the boot lid. Good thing the boot lid was still shut, the boot was a mess!

Agree with astroboy as well, my previous 5 cars, never once had to use the spare tyre. Whenever there was puncture, it deflated slowly, after that I just repressurize the tyre and head straight for the tyre shop and get it patched. One thing to remember, if theres a screw/nail embedded in the tyre, dont pull it it off...makes things worse.

Btw, can anyone advise if running 275/30 R19 tyres with 9.5" ET35 rims on the E90 rear will cause rubbing?

I'm really considering to swap out my 265/30 R19 to 275/30 R19 as I'm really worried that the rims will have a higher possibility of getting curbed one fine day without the extra tyre protection , as mentioned in my previous post:

i wanted to put 275 at the rear also, but the sunway tyres shop advised not..... he said few of his E90 customers already kena the fender. Have to knock the fender a bit.

Nope it wont. Some are running 275/30/19 on 9.5" ET30 on the rear and it doesn't rub on the sedan and coupe. So you should be ok. But it'll still be quite tucked in mainly due to the 35 offsets. Spacers on the rear will help with the flared look. I am running 9.5" wheels ET30 on the rear but with 255s tyre width. No rubbing and still quite a bit of gap.

Wah lio! GHS! yours izzit 325 or 320? If 320, then I suggest u don't go above 18" because your pick up and FC all suffer..

If u have 325, then don't stop at 19" ..

I think it also depends on the brand of tyres used. Falkens and Toyos are known to have "skinnier" tyre widths compared to other brands of the same size/width. Since I'm with Falkens and have ET35, it should be ok I guess. Alrite, dropping by the tyre shop after work today

Mine is a 320, so far standing acceleration does not seem to suffer much, FC will have to see in the long run.

Actually i just got my car for 3 weeks, so far i have modified to 19" wheel, Huperoptik tinting, M-tech boot lips & sharkfin. so i was thinking to lowered my car with Eibach Pro kit like yours brother GHS, but i'm scared with the warranty void with AB. IMHO, this combo exudes more of a "OEM" feel, good for you if you do not like the garang look

I'd also add some spacers at the rear for a more aggresive stance, as type 162s have quite a conservative offset.

Bro, if you like the classic/ori feel, you can also go for the Type 193M wheels which comes with the 325i Sports, it would be a good match with the M-Tech kit.
