Brothers,

For those of you with the iDrive and Sat-Nav screen, have you tried updating the GPS software + maps etc? I heard AB quotes RM2018+ for a new CD. So every 6 months, you have to pay 2K to get new roads information. If this is true, its just plain ridiculous as the data on those maps are not even owned by BMW.

Any brothers can verify and clarify?

cheers

Woo.... that's b****y ex!

Err.... who's got DVD burner? :listen:

Correct. I was quoted a retail price of RM 2,018.10 from IA a few days ago. I believe one of the forumers with a new 325 Sport is getting the new DVD, so I am hoping to test to see if there are any changes / software incompatibilities.

I guess DY's Pro Kit is giving about 35mm drop la... very nice drop for his 18"s too! or was it 19"

Mine is 18" and the drop is about 30mm front and 25mm rear. It is just the right drop for me.

Ya from what I understand, PSS9 starts from 40mm lowering onwards. KW V2 starts from 20mm lowering onwards, so with KW V2's you can go with a less agressive height adjustment. Eibach prokit is 30-35mm and M tech is 15-25mm lowering.

M tech is a great all rounder option for daily driver practicality IMHO.

Based on those sorta drop rates, i would have to agree on the M-Tech kit. Any suggestions for where i should start looking...likelihood of getting them fitted for less than RM5k?? Thanks for all the pointers....

a new rookie reporting....

:wink:hi, i am aziemann from JB. will be getting my new 320i sport by this friday,

a 2008 model retail price at 245800.discounted 2500 (high trade in)and a diamond brite !!

after a thorough check to choose which continental suits my age of 37, with a fair 2nd hand value, i go for beemers.

got a call from the SA from AB last month ,the 320i prereg 2007 at 199800 but not interested due to its plain look.

is it okay?

Presenting the new shoes for my ride :D
F: 8.5 x 19 ET35, 235/35 R19
R: 9.5 x 19 ET35, 265/30 R19

So far do not feel any significant power loss even with 19". I used to be sceptical of the comments about the bad ride quality of RFTs, but now I'm a convert! The ride is far more comfortable and pliant now that I'm no longer on RFTs.

I guess this should be my last major mod on the car ;)

Car is not looking as clean as it should be, as didn't have the time to give it a good wash yet, will do so and post in the E9x Picture thread one of these days. Meanwhile, will share the following pics:

Well my only gripe now is that the rear tyres don't seem to cover up the rims enough. The rear rim lips are really exposed to curbs :( Comparison pics of the front and rear rim lips - look at the red arrows:

Rear, very exposed lip

Front, still OK I guess...

I'm on Falken FK452. I read reviews that Falkens (and also Toyos), are known to have "skinnier" tyre widths compared to other brands of the same size/width. I was thinking of going for bigger rear tyres (Falkens as well) to protect the lips.

Questions:

1) If I change my rear tyres from 265/30 R19 to 275/30 R19, does it mean that I'm effectively reducing the wheel offset by another 10mm?

2) Will 275/30 R19 cause rubbing on the E90 rear?

@DY: If I recall, you are also using Falken FK452? Do you have the same experience where the rim lips are very exposed?

Whoa, nice wheels man.

I just took my first step to modding my 325i today...hamann 2-pipe sport rear silencer :top:

GHS, I want to see how your 265 tyres look from the rear, can take a photo from the back and share with us? I think your tyres are wider than your tail lights la..

Amazing to know your rear wheel arch cavity is big enough to fit the damn thing!! :top:

@BlackE90: Nope they are different design from David's. Both are 10 spokes, but mine are more curved I think...

@GhostDriver: Thx for the compliments. 1st step eh? Let the mods begin! :top:

@Bimmer910: They are hyperblack with stainless steel lip. El-cheapo SSW rims la... :p

@AB: 265s are not as wide as you think, in fact I think the 265 rims are not wide enuf to cover the 9.5" rear. Not sure if I shud change to 275. Moreover my offsets and width are quite conservative compared to what some of them are running at E90Post ;)

Some rear pics as requested:

And these are what I'd call WIDE nice behinds, courtesy of E90Post :D

by the way how much you getting the Falken tyres?? I got the front for rm850 per pc & rear rm1150 per pc at Sunway. Trade in my 17' rims & RFT for rm2800.

Sweet shoes Gan,

Now i'm sure you kenot tahan to try em on the track during next HPC...

Btw did you trade in your tires & rims or decided to keep them?

(how much did the shop take it for if you did)...

Am waiting for my CHs to arrive and the shop quoted RM3,300 for my current 193's and tires..Is that acceptable?

Aiyooo... this is a real poison... I'll pass on this one for now! But I am sure there's many demand for it here.. its a matter of who is fast enough to confirm it with you.. and I will be real envious of that person.. :(

Aiyo...this thread is pure poison la....I have to ignore this thread....ignore this thread...ignore this thread.....

So GHS...how much did those SSW wheels cost you ?

ignore this thread....ignore this thread...ignore this thread.....
