Thanks meinauto, but my experience with the BMW performance air intake has certainly spurred by hunger for more, that's why I have been very cheong hey about this and want to know the effect. I expect some extra juice matched with the air intake, the extra aural pleasure is certainly a bonus too. I have been in touch with Fred about the remap but last I checked he hasn't brought in the tools to remap the latest ECU. He's supposed to call me when he does.

Maybe you would like to check with Exoticmods. They guarantee 16bhp increase on the E90 325i.

i think HIOP remap is the more heard in the market. i've once checked with Eurocar, they are using HIOP too. BVO down in S'pore uses the same too if not mistaken.

For me la, 16 bhp is good to have (if i have the guts to do it) but you probably can 'feel' it only at higher RPM. 218bhp to 231bhp doesnt seem quite impressive, unless you're talking about 3.0L stroker kit to push out at over 300 BHP, tat is a different story...IMO

Waaa! First don't have the guts to do it, now want to go for stroker kit ah? Time to upgrade your 325 to a 330 or 335 bro... :)

IMO 231bhp/275Nm is just nice while keeping the balance of the car. The whole idea is to have a bit more bite at the top end of the rev range at 5-6k when max power and torque kick in, not when puttering around town at 2k. I shall be waiting for news that the tools are in. :p

One of our forummers did a HiOP tune on his 325i which promised 231hp (not Ken's 330i), and the car was mated with an intake (Simota?) as well. In our "independent" tests, it still lost out to DY's mighty "stock" E90 325i. Apa macham?

Ken also benchmarked his HiOP 330i vs another 330i and it was faster from what I remember. However, DY's "stock" 325i also gave the other stock 330i a pretty good run from what I heard. Hmm.. The moral of the story is.. get whatever DY's got in his car. Haha

i just wish i have something like 275bhp la..no need 300bhp..:listen:

i actually have this remap in mind, add in the performance exhaust system, plus Velocity Adjustable Booster, Ignition mod with Volker Spec II plugs, with the performance CF intake i already have, should be able to break 240 bhp?

ehhh....havent heard of DY's famous 'stock' 325i ler...tell me more..

Ok David. I've done my marketing.. Now up to you to close the deal. P.s. send me the commissions. LOL.

Seriously no ones knows till today why his car is freaky fast. Anyway from the postings in E90post, the removal of the precats brings about the biggest HP gains. More than intake, exhaust or even remap. But you gotta have guts to do it la, and its probably not friendly to the environment haha.

Hahaha... seriously I really dunno what is that so special abt my stock car. All I have in it is just a sprint booster. Apart from this, everything else is 100% stock standard. I think it could be the newly planted engine during that time :top: Maybe this time around it will not be so powerful due to ageing. I am curious to find out. So when ?

Interesting... what do they do? Any personal experience to share?

Exoticmods-Shedden says he partner with a guy in Germany that does remaps for BMWS. All he does here is extract the specs of your ECU and email to this guy and he will configure your setup including all your mods. Then he emails back to Shedden to load into your ECU.
All in 6 hours starting from 1pm to 7pm. Cost 3k and guarantee 16bhp min. He used to dyno all his work but confidents has given him the pride.

what is stroker kit? can fix to my ride? obsess with poowahh...heheeh

For you, the next step should be catless downpipes :)...that in itself should be worth 20-30hp and then a FMIC to keep IAT cooler

New target now is 400bhp. whats the different between BMW Performance pipes with catless downpipes? Im planing to get the engine performance kit once it is available.

BMW does not offer downpipes only exhausts and even then it is just the muffler. If you are referring to the 20hp increase from the BMW remap, there is really no point but do get additional cooling bolt ons that are offered with the performance kit

400bhp at the wheel? You would need the following
- revised intake, BMW rumoured to be launching one soon. if not a simple dual cone intake would work fine
- catless downpipes
- larger intercooler

That way, you can run stage 3 and 400whp should be do-able :)

Here I am getting all excited with 3 hp gains from a performance intake. My next car has to be force fed
