was at fred's today when a shipment arrived. Some BBKs and two performance exhausts! Took a look at them and it actually looks like the OEM exhaust but the tips are polished/ chrome. Looks the part!

Everyone seem to have given rave reviews on KWs. I wonder if Fred can enlighten us on this a bit more.

E46F could probably provide some thoughts on the KWs :)

Don't mind me asking but where is Fred's place?

meinauto, are those BMW Performance exhausts for the E90s? I wonder if you know anyone who can give some feedback here. I'm very tempted actually but so far no one can tell me if it would make a diff on my E92 323i matched with sports air intake.

It will definitely sound better with the performance exhaust but not sure if you can hear or feel it after much "yam seng" session  haha...

I don't mind the loudness actually, others kinda take you more seriously, refined in the inside but monster on the outside.

Thanks for the heads up mate. How much $$$ is he selling them for btw and is he fitting a set onto his 325i Sports first (wont mind a test ride on it if so hehe). Also, what BBKs did he bring in?

Here's my thoughts on the KWs..

Pros
1) Best coilovers you can get out there for street applications for our cars
2) High quality, lifetime warranty
3) Very comfy esp over smaller bumps
4) Less roll on directional changes, more positive steering feel and control
5) Recommended way to lower the car, vs. just Eibachs as the stock shockers will go fast with just the lowered springs.

Cons
1) Takes a few rounds to the shop to "tune" the setup from dampening to right height. I've gone in total like 5 times to adjust them over time. Good thing is you can get them to your exact taste.
2) Slightly more noisy, esp air release sounds when going over humps etc.

For me its only 2 options. Either the stock BMW M sport/Performance suspension or KWs. You might want to explore the new BMW Performance suspension as its designed by BMW performance and so far good reviews on E90 post. I think Velocity has it on his 335 and is very pleased with iti. Less headache, full warranty but price wise, its similar or more than the KW v2s.

Yes - E90s only

my view, FWIW....for NA cars below 3l, bolt on mods will give you some performance upside and it will be relatively small if compared to say a remap

If you have the intake and you add the exhaust, you will feel some difference but it will not be that noticeable. But if you add a custom map, yes, the gains will be felt

Having said that, the exhaust will give you a lot of aural pleasure especially when you explore the higher RPMs :)

Don't think he will be fitting one on his car :)

Price i think is around RM5k...he mentioned that this was airfreighted in and hence the price is higher. RM4.6k is difficult to match unless you have regular container shipments and this is just piggybacking on the container

BBKs? Yellow slotted brembos for a X6. Freaking massive 405mm fronts!!

Thanks meinauto, but my experience with the BMW performance air intake has certainly spurred by hunger for more, that's why I have been very cheong hey about this and want to know the effect. I expect some extra juice matched with the air intake, the extra aural pleasure is certainly a bonus too. I have been in touch with Fred about the remap but last I checked he hasn't brought in the tools to remap the latest ECU. He's supposed to call me when he does.

So who's gonna be the first to try it? Actually we are long overdue for a baseline snapshot on performance. Last time DY's stock E90 makan all our cars. Now with the performance intake need to re-test with DY again kakaka.

Remap should be soon. For the 325, expect 231bhp and 275nm after the remap. Sorry JP, did not check out the 323 :)

Wow...that's quite a jump huh? Very interesting. But does it affect warranty do you think?

Yeah, it's time again. Lets organize one.... the same venue & time of course.

invisible as far as GT1, SSS and ISTA is concerned.... but you lose it when your progman gets updated....but i think in these instances, the map will be reloaded for free

Excuse my ignorance, but what are GT1, SSS and ISTA? So basically, you're saying there's no effect on warranty by doing a remap? 231hp/275nm would be just right and within existing drive-train component range IMHO. :p

Is this the HIOP tune which Fred was doing or a new tune?
