Some pics of the lowered ride with the KWs. Before my wife throws me out of the house, I'm closing the mod chapter on my car heh.

Fronts. Its about 10mm lower than the highest recomended setting from KW.

Rears is about 5mm lower than the highest recommended setting range.

Front clearance from the splitters.

Rear clearance..it was actually raised by 5mm as the initial 10mm rear lowering from highest made the car look like a track car. Wanted more of the daily ride look.

Another view of the fronts.

Chapter closed...

Nice!
Are you sure the mod chapter is closed? Let's see in the next 6 months hehe...
Maybe you will yearn for 19" ;)

Btw any noise coming from the suspension or springs? And is there any difference in stability at high speeds with the carbon splitters? What damping setting u using on the V2?

Over speed humps, when the front dampers compress there is a mild squish (sounds like air releasing) sound. No clunks or squeaks tho. The rears don't seem to make any sound at all even over humps.

As for the CF splitters, honestly I can't tell an improvement in high speed stability :). Then again you probably drive a LOT faster than me heh.

For the dampering rate. KW recommends 1.25 turns from hardest on front and 1 turn from hardest on rear to start with. I am on 1.5 and 1.25 respectively now.

Nice drop. Your car look much more better now with the KW V2 on it. Can't wait to sit in your car for a test drive on how comfortable it is :)

ok, following e46f foot steps.
got my kw v2 installed today. it took 7 hrs to complete & great job to sam! the rear was more difficult to install than the front as my rear seats can't be moved down. my stiffness setting is similar to e46f. was for height, rear 5mm lower from highest setting all round. e46f, thanks for leading the way. the ride may drop a little & takes a week to settle according to master speedrats.
compared to my stock sport suspension setting, the ride comfort as improved to my liking. its firm and nice over humps. steering feels alot more accurate and corner alot flatter than before. body roll is reduced tremendously.
cant wait to take it for a ride to NSE to test both high speed stability and ulu yam for cornering.

Ken bro, you need to post some pics of your ride lah.

I finally had a chance to take the car for a spirited run late last night when the roads were clear. The KW's give the car so much more response and feedback and the way it soaks up bumps is really something. Its comfy yet firm. Makes you go just a little faster through the corners/sweepers as it doesnt roll and is very secure and planted. The way it absorbs bumps is quite an addictive feeling and makes you want to corner fast and feel the car soak up more bumps heh. The road was damp, so I didn't push it till the DSC lights flashed (unlike Ken!), but what I have noticed is that the ride comfort has really improved since I installed it on Monday. I think its the springs settling nicely. Enjoying the car fully!

Hello hello peeps

Ken and FJ, excellent choice on the KWs. Im sure the ride will be all the sweeter. FJ, your ride is looking well groomed. Not too showy, which is excellent. Could you also post the costings for the KWs for our benefit....

Bro IZWAN, didnt you say you wanted KWs the last time we met up the hill ? What you waiting for... GO GO GO.

Rookie, want to tint glass next weekend in KJ ? Lemme know.

Bro Rocketman, where art thou ? You spearheading DAP now issit :)

I'm here la bro B910 :top:

Already rode the "rocket" to the "moon" to keep an "eye" on things la

My work here is done already so i just sit quitely n listen la :smokin:

You've done a really good job so far bro FJ..it would be a shame if you were to stop now..slow talk with the Mrs la cuz it would be worth while if you succeed

Interestingly, Comparo between e46 and rocketman :

Both done m-sports kit
Both have front lip add on
Both cars been lowered
Both cars changed rims - BMR 19's and E46 18's

Yet conclusively, one looks "garang" and the other looks "well groomed"....
Wonder if the color schemes have anything to do with that ?

Yes, the car color does make the difference :)

In today's HPC at SIC, I can say that our E90 needs a lot more to modify to be powderful! I can feel my car... hmmm... not so impressive in terms of power. Handling wise is very good. So how to make our car more powderful ???

I would say the rims and colour combo make the most difference. bmrocket has the Breytons with black spokes & black car for the "racer" look, while the silver Volks on E46F's ride has more of a subtle/OEM look.

Oh, and not forgetting the quad exhaust on bmrocket's ride further accentuates the "garang" look ;)

2 different schools of ride-modding...

Power is never enough on track, so forget about modding your car to get more power so that you'll be happy on track, unless you've got very big budget!

Alternatively, get a "track" car!
