Bad news! Looks like our filter is different.. :(

Good news! It looks like an open port filter... its time for me to go to my friend warehouse to see if there's anything ngam.. :D (he is a retired K&N dealer that still has loads of K&N open port filter lying in his storeroom.. :p)

There are 2 specs, one Europe and the other US spec drop in's. Our 325i's are based on a conical one which is the europe spec filter. So K&N also has a part no for the Europe spec filter which is conical in shape which is the one both Ken and Speedrat got. I haven't checked on the 2.0 ltr, but Speedworks would know I think.

Yup. I have checked on K&N's website and ours is the conical ones. Yet again, I only checked for the 6-pot, not sure about 4-pot, could be different.

Excuse me... I think the right word is Cylindrical (like piston).. not Conical (like ice cream cone, or Madonna outfit..).. :p :D

Cannot... :D I am his agent! PM me on what u want.. he has FIA approved helmets, 4-points Sabelt, window net, gloves, boots, rally intercom, and some other yummies in his store..

Not sure if it can fit E90 320i.. :( E46F, can check for me? Thanks!

I will be checking with my K&N supplier and see if can get better price.

I checked and the stock filter element part numbers are different between the 320i and 325/330i. Both are cylindrical tho :).

Orig Filter part no:
320i: 13717532754
325/330i: 13717536006

Ouch... then u guys go ahead.. I wonder how different is a 330i filter.. if I can modified it to fit my 320i, I am sure I will gain more impressive performance improvement.. :D

Bumper? Grill? Head light? Darn... tonight will do some inspection and check for body damage.. I think I'll be lucky if I can escape with scars.. :(

You da man Calvin. Does this include install or its cash and carry only?

Most people after install K&N, FC worsen because they have the tendency of pushing their engine a little more which they now can.. :D RFi (Right Foot intelligence) still applies.. :D

But keeping the K&N clean is very important as the oil picks up dirt fast and clog the filter. For a JDM, Speedworks washes and oil your K&N for less then RM9 but our e90 dunno la... so difficult to open (more than 10 screws).. :( My Avanza K&N can be taken out within 10 sec.. :D and I wash my K&N in the kitchen using Dynamo and oil it with 2T oil.. :p religiously every 10k km

Another thing you all need to be careful when using K&N... after the filter element, there located our ultra sensitive air flow sensor. Excess of K&N oil will wet the sensor making it less sensitive.. please do some research on overcoming this.. which I still have no clue except spray it with carborator cleaner.. :D I have one at home to clean my Volvo 940 air flow sensor and throttle body.

Avanza no such problem because the K&N is seated on top of the throttle.. excess K&N will be sucked directly into the intake manifold and burn in the combustion chamber.. I think my Avanza no air flow sensor also..

This is my air flow sensor..

K&N oil will inevitably coat itself onto the sensor and u can't run a K&N without oiling it. Imagine oiling this sensor... how much sensitivity loss would you suffer? Bear in mind warranty issue.. :(

AB, does E90 use hot-wire MAFs ?
Most E36s are hot-wire, making us less prone to MAF failure ;)

In normal condition, K&N should last at least 50,000 miles before it need cleaning and re-oil. That mean 80,000 KM. You shouldn't be worry
