Hi Bros,

I know the shark fin is a radio antenna but why some e90 is equipped with it and some dont. When did they start to have it? Mine did not come with it.

Also if there are no shark fin, then where is the antenna?

cheers

The sharkfin is for SAT Nav. Those with sharkfin is with the iDrive. For E90s, only the Sports version comes with iDrive which automatically comes with sharkfin. For those with the sharkfin, the radio antenna is embedded to the rear windscreen.

Or, you could get a shark fin purely for cosmetic purposes, if you are in the mood to give your ride some car jewelry ;)

It should cost between RM100 - RM150 painted...

OK folks I *think* I have finally decided to take the plunge after months of contemplating whether or not to change my stock rims hehe. Battle of heart vs the wallet. Heart 1-Wallet 0 :p

Just want to check and confirm that the following rim/tyre sizes & offsets are ok for the E90 (no rubbing inside or out). I did a check with the E90Post calculator and it seems to be fine:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12

Front: 8.5 x 19 ET35; 235/35 R19
Rear: 9.5 x 19 ET35; 265/30 R19

*Don't shoot me, I know many will say 19" too big for 320i, but I thought 18" won't have much visual effect from my current setup anyway. So my ride will be all-show, no-go haha*

Too bad the rears don't come in ET30, else the fit will be more flush...

One more question I have in mind: Will it be a good idea to go to the HPC with 19"? I'm sort of in a state of quandary, as my current tyres (17") are left with about 50% thread, not sure if it's safe to go on track with this amount of thread...

surely can la bro, use it in hpc then change more worthwhile. dun tell me change new rims then u go track it.

care to share the pics?

Go to HPC in your current set up, and then the next HPC event in your upgraded set up, you will be able to feel the difference...... whether it's an improvement or otherwise!

Yup, agree with bmFIVE. Go to HPC first round with your 17" and then later another round with your new wheel 19". I guess the biggest difference you will notice will be in terms of "power" especially yours is a 320i with a 19" wheels on it. There could be improvement in handling too with 19" wheels.

OK so it looks like I will wait till after the HPC before I make the change, which means another couple of months. Itchy oredy... hehe

Can someone confirm if the below offsets are ok? Want to ensure that there's no rubbing inside and/or outside the fenders:

Front: 8.5 x 19 ET35; 235/35 R19
Rear: 9.5 x 19 ET35; 265/30 R19

the rear can be reduced to ET30 will look better.

If I leave it at ET35, I assume the only drawback is on the aesthetics (not flush with the rear fender). But will ET35 cause rubbing on the inside part of the wheel and fender (as the tyres/wheels are now wider)?

Unfortunately the rears only come in ET35. So a 5mm spacer is needed to bring it down to ET30 then...

Anybody can recommend what brand/where to get it/how much for the spacers?
Do I have to get longer wheel lugs if I were to go for 5mm spacers? Any other things to take note of?

its a yes to all.

u can try Eibach's spacers, u need longer lugs, and pls take a pic real soon!

Yea go with ET30 rear offset with a 9.5 width wheel. I believe Rouge Engineering is recommended, as its hubcentric, high quality and not known to give vibrations. Also comes with all the necessary bits (new bolts, lugs etc). Donno where to get them here tho...

Order it online, get it shipped to Singapore and pay 5% GST, then submarine it into BolehLand.. :D

Eibach is not bad too as I have been having it on my cars for a year now and having no problem with it.

How much for the Eibach spacers approximately?

What about H&R spacers?

I have no idea about H&R spacers but I heard good comments on Rogue and Eibach. I bought mine 15mm Eibach at RM 430 + RM 100 for the lugs.

Check this out!
