Went to Stanford tyres in Jusco 1U since they are the disti for RAYS wheels here. Bad news is that they do not seem to have the right size and offset Progresiv MEs in stock, and they doing a final check with the HQ tomorrow. If they are out, it'll take them 3-4 months to order and fulfil here. Still no word on the price here, but I'll likely find out tomorrow when they call back.

Might be worth a SG roadtrip afterall. Not too sure if the shops in SG have ready stock of the rim size I am looking at or I'll have to pre-order etc. THe more I think about it, the more I think this would be the wheel I'll set my sights on heh.

Also, anyone know which is more comfy - Eibach prokit + Koni FSD or KW V2 coilovers?

Stamford in Singapore carries stock for e90 and e92. Would be worth the trip. They also do trade ins FYI.

I believe there are many Stamford branches in SG? Could you please share the address of the main branch or at least the one which has the most choices?

Im certain E46 has already visited their URL :
http://www.stamfordwheels.com/

The following SSW rims fit the E90 :

1. S018
2. S019
3. S038

As for the Volks Progressive ME, they only have 19" for the E90, while the 18s are available upon request - 45 days.

They are available at the Jurong Branch as follows :

Stamford Tyres Megamarts - Jurong

19 Lok Yang Way, Jurong Singapore 628635
Tel: +65 6262 3355
Fax: +65 6262 1494
Website : http://intune.stamfordtyres.com

Opening hours:
Mon - Sat: 9.00am - 7.00pm
Sun: 11.00am - 4.00pm
*Closed on Public Holidays

I hope that this helps. I have been informed that 18" SSW S038 with tyres is 2k+ (Call to ask for the options on tyres that you prefer).

Cheers :top:

Bro GHS, I thought you have already set your eyes on a set in Malacca and is just waiting to sell of your original rims ??

I called Leong Seng in Ubi road and they have the 19's Progressiv ME's for the E90 but no stock of PS2 or CSC3 tyres with that size. Also the tyres cost a whopping SGD3k for a set which is more than the prices here. Kinda strange. Bimmer910 any indication of tyre prices from Stanford in SG?

E46,
I just installed Eagle F1s and gosh I have to agree with all those who sang praises abt normal tires on our E90. Everything is sooooo much better, from, ride, handling, noise and comfort. F1 are usually cheaper than CSC3 or PS2 but make sure if you get them, get the German ones. Dont bother abt Thai or China made ones.

Aha.... now I'm sure you would love your ride much more. Now u can feel how nice to drive an E90 without the RFT right. Good choice to switch out from RFT though should have done it much more earlier :top:

Danc,

Yea the Eagle GSD-F1 are highly rated tyres (german ones) and is probably one of the top performers esp in the wet. However, I hear they do get a bit noisy as the thread wears down. BTW, now that you've switched to non-RFT are you running with a repair kit? If so what time and how much $$$?

I am definitely going non-rft as well. Just a bit concerned about getting stranded on the road with a flat and no spare.

Shucks! I'm getting awfully sick with my RFTs on 18"! It's not just the ride but steering just doesn't stay centre cos it's way too firm!

I double checked with Leong Seng and Stanford, and both of em are out of Progressiv ME's for the E90. Based on what one of the BMW SG forummers posted, there is a waiting list for this rim and the shop says new shipment only in End March!!

Also no stock of PS2 or CSC3 in the size I am looking for. Looks like all the excitement of getting a new pair of shoes before CNY has gone out the window!

E46,
Not sure what you meant by "what time"?

I got the E90 Mobility Kit and it cost RM 677.83 from AB. There is also a ContiComfort Kit which seems to be easier to use, called the supplier will only have stock after CNY and still don't know how much. The E90 kit is not so straight forward i.e. you need to remove the valve, fill in the sealant, replace the valve and then pump. Sealant is a one time use and one bottle will cost RM 160++ and have a shelf life of 4 years. It can only patch leaks up to 4 mm.

A friend of mine bought the E60 spacesaver spare tire and according to him and the AB SA it will fit the E90 as well. But checked with AB, no stock. It cost around Rm 1400 which comes with the jack, wrench etc.

Ummm... would love to check out the E90 Mobility Kit when we meet up this Saturday. Can bring along? I'm also curious if there are other types of sealants cos I'm heading the non-RFT route as well after my current RFTs are due for change.

Thanks Danc for the experience sharing. I didn't realize the E90 Mobility kit was so difficult to use and has these limitations. But I can't remember the last time I got stranded with a puncture and had to use the spare when I was on non-RFTs. Hopefully I'll never have to use it :)

Guys,

The mobility kit is always in the car now. Not as brave as DY. Since driving on the RFT for a year, I have had two nail punctures. Those wide 255 have a neck of picking up nails, screws etc.

When I saw the new Conti Kit on the web, all you need to do was plug in and pump both air and sealant w/out removing valve. But that is a web demo so not sure how accurate.

Not sure if I can make it this Sat cause need to fly off to HK on Sun. So might miss the meet up.

My friend, you are flying off only on Sunday but our meet is on Saturday. So just drop la. I would love to have a look at the kit too. After hearing from you "two nail punctures in a year" makes me scare already!
