Get the 1990 and above E30, the body are galvanised. No rust problems :D

Not really laaa ..still got rust but mucho mucho less ....

Maybe circa ur door sill, rear bonnet (inner) and a few other places ....

But E30 is REALLY a FUN car to play with ... A bit tight for rear passengers but who cares ... Want space ? take a bus ...

how regularly you chaps meet?

let me tell you my story.... then after that you can hassle Jeff to tell you his story plak...

My car was an abandoned car. the condition quite bad. Spent a total of 9K up to date for the following:-

1. Body work, anti rust
2. engine parts (plugs, fuel pump, tuning, replace hoses etc etc battery)
3. rims (this is want not need.....tangan gatal :D ), tyres
4. acceptable condition dashboard

still need to spend about 5K for aircon, painting and minor mechanical maintenance...

total spent, 9K
total projected, 15K
driving pleasure, priceless :D

hi guys..interesting idea.woke up this morning with a lightbulb above my head.

what are the pitfalls in transplanting an M50B25+gearbox into an e30 chassis?? what about an M52B28+gearbox? manual of course..

will the propshaft and rear diff from the abovementioned engine/gearbox combo fit nicely or do i need some mods?

goodness.. sounds like you dug it out from its grave. so was it roadworthy when you got your chariot? 9k looks cheap.. i budgeted 20k for the car itself and maybe 30k for restorations / mods. hmm.. this sounds quite feasible.

must consult more gurus first.
