Tionged by Mazda RX-8

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I was genuinely rushing back home to catch some friends who decided to bring some other friends from Hong Kong, Singapore and Zurich for an excursion to Batu Caves, Ulu Yam and Goh Tong Jaya. It was another "Visit Malaysia Year" tour of duty! It transpired I was not the only joker in a rush cos I kena tionged by a red Mazda RX-8. Seeing it in my rear mirror, I couldn't help but be pretty impressed by its "intensive" yet pretty frontal looks. I decided to "exploit" the sweeper on Jalan Damansara just after the Petronas and Shell petrol stations on the far right when the RX-8 zoomed past me at the middle lane. Brilliant! I could keep up on the straight and even exploited a gap to take back the lead but it was short lived as I had to turn off to Bangsar. However, I must say the RX8 looks good when going fast and it's handling must be quite good (or the driver was very confident). Spoke to Energy after that and he told me the RX8's manual version has about 230 bhp. Wow! P.S. - anybody wanting to sell their E46 330i?

JPB, how come you always seemed to run into speedsters who wants to race with you? First it was the Alfas, and then now the RX-8? Hmm, you and your car must have that agressive look

Hahaha... If I got an aggressive look, Fabian (tq for directions to Ulu Yam lake) probably looks like Triple H from WWF. It was quite funny, the RX8 was quite civil and gentlemanly in staying on my tail until he sensed I was OK to play. I'm OK to play with these guys cos they give space and are not out there to kill anybody. Same with the 156ers I encountered b4. But if it's a bunch of rowdy wiralutions, skylines or airtreks, then I stay out of the way...

I'm not the only one who kena picked on. There's a few E46s I know here who have some stories of encounters enroute to Cyberjaya and KLIA...

i wanna brag a bit too.. may i?

was in the same rushing scenario but was driving along jln.bangsar (the muzium road) heading to the old KTM train station.. was actually cutting in and out of traffic and noticed a blue satay ria with an exhaust bigger than the car itself was following every cut i took. i decided to play lah since i was rushing also.. the road was clear after the jln.travers junction and i stepped on it.. i was impressed that my M40 could pull away from the lame screaming satay ria on 4th gear while negotiating the bend after passing the museum... when reached the roundabout our frend started cucuking me again.. but then i u-turned and had to drop of my frend at the old station..

my e30 tionged a noisy big headed satria.. im proud, im proud.. :yahoo:

I had a quick drag/tiong with a debadged E30 manual (reg WCC 5x)dragging off the lights just before the set of traffic lights at the 4 way junction at Sec 16/Eastin.... with the Wifey's Jazz 1.5 lol... Seeing that he was going for it, I decided to see how the Jazz stacks up with the E30...

Quite true but it was more fun going straight then to exit off in such a short sprint.

Nah... If I had tiong-ed an RX8, I would be coughing a lot of dust. Shy lah! But, been paying some attention to the 330i thread, hehe!

Sometimes its nice to be tionged or have a short drag.

Other day, was at a traffic light driving boxster s when this 300z stepped on it when it turned green.

I didnt notice the car as busy talking until heard the car's sprinting, natural instict was also to step on it. Was amazed that at 2nd gear start (porsche's auto mode starts at 2nd gear, to go 1st gear have to manual overide), can still catch although didnt even floor the car.

Funny in Spore, you have all types of cars (even SUVs) wanting to trail or overtake esp when they see a sports car (maybe its called Kiasu syndrome). The driving culture here is really different. But as usual for Msians, we will let them eat the dust. :)

heard mazdaspeed's rx-8 makes 260bhp in 6-speed manual guise..now that wud be something!!! 1.3 na making 260bhp..must be a screamer!!!
