Hi NW,

5. little know fact is that the 528i comes with a 16 speaker Professional sound system instead of a 12 speaker one - but don't ask me where did they hide the remaining 4, :)

Under the seats :)

Only thing that has got me interested in the 528i is the fact that it's a turbo charged car, i.e. very tunable in the future. If you have the cash, look at a 2nd hand 535i....tunable to be a serious monster.

f10 body is made of aluminum

well, the body is so hard it seems hard to even dent. But mine has a small ding with no scratches or paint fall off.

After making some noise to the dealer two days ago about having to live with an outdated gps map, I received a call from them today telling me that they will "order" the latest map for me and give me a free update. No lead time was given though. Will see how it goes and report here about the progress.

After almost 3 months of waiting, finally I got a call from my SA yesterday telling me that the latest GPS map is in store for me. Had it uploaded to my to car in less than 10 minutes at dealer's place just now and now I can see MEX on the map.:top:

My 2012 F10 was preloaded with 2011 maps. Requested my dealer to upgrade to the 2012 map. Got mine installed recently. And i must say that the 2012 map is great.....especially the 3d buildings in KL

Just returned from a test drive of the 528i and indeed it is an impressive car. The extra 51k over the 520i is worth it in my opinion. Wanted to ask a few questions:

1. What can be displayed on the HUD apart from speed and GPS?
2. Can the Auto Start/Stop be disabled? Personally I found the auto start a bit jarring.

1. Nothing else
2. Yes. There is a button below start/stop that has to be pressed every time you get into the car.

I would say that the proper comparison should be between the 528i and 520d. Similar torque and feel. The 520i feels uninspiring (too much mass to move, not enough horses). Then it gets harder to weigh between the price differential and the stuff you get for that extra price .....

Main benefit for me of the 528i is the steering wheel. Solid and nice. The one on the 520i and 520d is too thin.

Thanks for the reply. Any way to disable the Auto Start/Stop permanently?
