Hi guys,
I just got an e38 for my better half, '96 model year. A 728i, quite well cared for, looks and runs great, engine and transmission smooth etc.
I did all the suspension arms and bushes on her, all new leather for the seats, new headlining and a,b and c pillars retrimmed. Door cards were good so those were left alone. Fitted a decent stereo with full bluetooth connectivity with adaptors so it would work off the steering controls. And a security tint to protect my lady.
Problem here is that my girl complains the cars too slow for her . She loves the car otherwise, it looks and rides great and It's initial get up and go isn't too bad, probably due to low gearing. But that 2.8 M52 only has so much grunt and starts to run out of puff once you get going. Looking at my options, I think the only route for me would be to supercharge it. Power gains on a 2.8 with chipping etc would be minimal, and if this task is going to be worth the effort, I'd need at least a 50hp gain to see it through.
Anyone know of anyone who does supercharging here? Or even has a kit leftover . I think I could undertake the install myself if I had all the bits (I have a garage at home with all the necessary tools).
All tips, advice and info welcome,
Thanks in advance guys!
Kris
