Wah Mr Rezzy
what are you using to kill off all the rust on your triumph? have u sorted out the engine yet?[hopefully not seized?]

nice work ..carry on! ;)
sad to say looks like I have to go through everything as I stop totally driving the car for the last 10 years, was not around pass to a friend to babysit as he is a collector and had a spitfire too, left it there 3 years and he is an estate manager park near his factory well when I visited sad case when I see my poor baby even my key was rusting from the factory near by.

What to do towed the car back but off an on I turn the fan and its ok. I did a complete overhaul with all british parts earlier, again after all the body done I still got to go through everything to running order. had all new rubbers for my windscreen, between body and a few more which I ordered years back keep safely in my bed drawer and hope still soft. I use to drive it dailly in the 80's even to Kuantan, Labis, Malacca, KL sban. I love very much the sitting on the floor flat its nice feeling Bro.

P/S I have to consult our sifus here as so far I wire brush clean and primer only 3 coats.

wah nice rezzzy, i love to read on projects like this, hopefully one day i can do my own.

Rezzy,

Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing.... a word of advise, make sure you are using oxide primer when stripping to bare metal. This will prevent rust from forming.

Have fun and do post up the final results ya?

Cheers!
Kevster where to get those stuff before I proceed further as so far I wire brush clean shine and primer 3coats with those aerosol can undercoating.

The original was in red oxide shit thin layer, they also cheated 2nd coat I think was the primer, then the base coat colour, org puteh those day pun don't do what you done to your car. what ever it is I am enjoying myself Bro doing it my self.

Thought of buying the spray mechine and welding set but no skill and cost to much, but I will be using fiberglass for small not important area of rust DIY lah.

Coooool!

If u r still looking for spray can type primer, have a look at Ace Hardware. Its called Bondo and comes in different grades, including lightly rusted metal and heavily rusted metal. Most likely to find it at Ikano Ace as not all Ace Hardware stores are equal.

Make sure u spray silicone lube on the rubber to make it more pliable.

It was laying ideal for years but well covered in my garage with cloth and plastic car cover always and check out off and on.

now I have to start again to run the car as I really mis the open top.

for me when I buy my house I rather wait as i need a space for we are car lovers and bound to have a fleet sooner or later so got mine corner lot 3000sq ft extra land happy abt it maybe soon to built covered garage for 3 at least for the good cars to be lock in it. :eek:k:

I had copies of floor plans digram and other stuff, friend borrowed hope they don't lost it and he works in Kalimantan now. Parts no problem can't get here UK ada anything.
