bro lionel, how much would the performance chip cost? I am considering megasquirt also at the same time. gives me more options nxt time. regarding the non-ews ecu i just followed what another forummer got for his conversion (his ecu number is the same as the one i got so i assume its non-ews).i dont think there's any mistake from the wireman as we had gone through the wiring diagrams and connections several times over and over already. The engine cranks but no spark..

bro iceman13: thanks for your concern bro. thing is..the workshop i got the engine from is in kl and i am located in sarawak.

I just hope that when the day comes the engine will fire up without any issues. sigh.

If the engine cranks, it's not an EWS problem anymore...you should check with Rudy Kuching aka XSJADO who has M42 running in his E30 in Kuching. Probably you could check your wiring with his car...at C101 plug :top:

jeez...2 years and not resolved? if you were in KL, i'm sure there are a lot of places that could help you out. S'wak i'm not sure. it's a pity that the seller did not take responsibility to deliver what he promised.

megasquirt is a good affordable ecu, i believe a basic kit starts at less than USD200. but like all standalones, its as only as good as the tuner who tunes it. you can also self tune, but you have to spend a lot of time to make it perfect, if you're new at it. if you're looking at having a reliable daily driver, the stock ecu is still the way to go.

bro wolverine : It's the same with all the ecu's i've tried. even with the original ecu..cranks but no firing..was told ews controls firing also..and i've checked with rudi as well..coils are working fine just no spark to fire up the engine.
bro ramsing : Thanks bro. i know right...such a pity the guy i dealt with was reputable but in an isolated case of mine..seller and workshop rep had not exercised their due responsibility to satisfy the customer. i've got my mechanic here to handle everything as i've gotten enough headache just to think of a way to settle it. so tired already..

Is anyone familiar with PKL Motorsports here ? I need help to retrieve the engine documents which they had not sent to me during shipping of the engine which I had requested. My car is now up and running guys.. just need to do road tax renewal but unable to do so unless I have the engine documents and the tauke at PKL Motorsports does not want to pick up my call.

Wah a very sad story from day one till almost 2 years pass only the car can be started...
But then something is missing the document for that car renewal of road tax...
This is very bad impression to all UDM owners like my self a newbie...
Hope from now on bro Jumpman can soft the prob once for all...

Thank you guys for your time. I finally managed to get to him and he is currently making arrangements for the document. Let's hope I can settle this once and for all and of course finish up the remainder of my car. Will update here accordingly.

Am still disappointed at how the fella is doing things. Call him to no avail..when I do get through he says he will call me back and yet no return call. I am still in need of another item which is the M42 AFM to have the car properly running of which, the engine came without. My current M40 afm in the car will not run properly as the car engine will die when it is idling. Engine documentation is with me already and to order for the car to pass Puspakom test, I need the car to be running properly and the current AFM issue will not help at all. What more to say the EWS issue..I had to fork out my own money to get it done ..Ah Lai did not even bother to even lay a finger of responsibility to help me throughout my hardship. Anybody has a spare AFM for the M42 to let go?
