Guys,

There's really no big hype about whose having the side left mirror tilting down or not!. Because all E39 has this function.

Why some don't have it it's because the function is not set to "enable". By default or perhaps during delivery the first owner has ticked off this function leaving it disabled.

Like for mine, it's a CBU from GERMANY fully imported by AB and the owner i bought from (1st owner) has ticked all functions as enable before taking delivery of it. How i know? He has a complete options package lists together with his invoice in the history file of the car which he passed on to me when i bought it.

You wanna enable it...can. just plug in DISPLUS and enable the function from the menu. There's a lot of other parameters you can enable/disable as you like.

and btw, this has got nothing to do with having memory or not. cuz it's not controlled by memory module.

Bro, any remedy for the rear window being stuck ? Looks like mine is stuck. Initially the window doesnt goes down, then few days later tried again, it works fine. but now totally no response.

sounds like window regulator koyak dy. You can check if the motor is working by pressing the up/down button and listen to any movement in the door.

Thanks mate! Useful info. What else functions that are optional?

1) Wiper modes: You can select if you wanna enable/disable "drop speed" when idle. Meaning if you're in 2nd speed wiper mode, it'll automatically drop it down to 1st speed (intermittent) when you come to idle. When you start to move next, it'll automatically start the speed at 2nd as you initially set it at that speed. Same goes with 3rd speed...it'll drop to 2nd speed when idle.

It's helps a lot imho, cuz when comes to traffic lights, you don't want the wiper to wipe fast. I would normally turn it off at the t.lights in my other car, but when drive the UDM, it does it by itself.

2) Ambient light: You can select soft/fast ON. Meaning, you want your interior lights to dim on/out when opening/closing door or fast on/off when operating the door.

3) Seatbelt warning: You can have it turned on to remind you of buckling your seatbelt as well as chiming.

4) Home lights: How many seconds you want to have your homelights (low beam) lights on when you switch on? It's 10: 20: 40: 60 secs of choices.

5) Units: Metric or Imperial readouts.

6) Windows: One touch UP/DOWN or press & hold operation (standard on every other practical cars).

7) Side Mirrors: To enable/disable tilting downwards while in reverse.

8) Auto lock: to enable/disable auto-lock when car reach the speed around 5kmh.

9) Selection Unlocking: To unlock driver's side door when pressed unlocked button 1st time. 2nd time press, then only all the other doors and trunk unlock. Or to disable selection unlocking, meaning everything unlocks when 1st time pressed.

10) Comfort unlocking/locking: To enable/disable windows/sunroof slide open with key.

I think there are others i may have left out but this is as much as i can remember seeing the features i have on my car using the DISPLUS once before.

Hope it helps all clear their doubts. Cheers. :)

Thanks Champion. I knew i missed something when i typed the rest out but just couldn't recall. :)

I updated the primary list with the above already.

9. Hazard lights blink a while when lock by remote key.

i think this function is available only if you have alarm module & clown nose in the car.

I don't think so (mine don't have alarm module) when M Speed did mine with GT2. What is clown nose??

Great news then. I'll check this one out my mechie. "Clown nose" is a what we call the alarm's red led attached below the rear view mirror. The cover is red in colour too thus representing a clown's nose somewhat. :)

Mine does not have the "clown nose". Also it does not comes with alarm even though it's a CKD model. Still GT2 can program for hazard light to blink when lock with remote control .
