Let me story u guys how the weekend unfold.
XXX and I were adopted by the friendly Audi boys from
Club Audi Malaysia at the Dengkil R&R at 5.30AM on a cool Saturday morning. At this juncture, there were 3 cars: my car, A4 B6 1.8T and A4 B5.5 1.8T. 1 A4 B7 Quattro 2.0 TFSI joined us later at the Seremban R&R. We then proceeded at a steady pace along the PLUS hiway South-bound. At about 7.30AM, we turned off at the Ayer Hitam exit and headed towards Kluang town for the famous Kluang Railway Station for breakfast, joined by a few more CAM members.
Left Kluang after a stupendous breakfast, a wake-up-late A6 joined us later at the PLUS highway and we proceeded to Gelang Patah. Jarance joined us at the last R&R for the remaining journey across the LinKedua.
Our gracious SG host led us to her humble abode, parked our cars, showered and proceeded to Eng Soon. EddieFiola joined us there. (Tabik to this guy who was actually drove to KL for the TT in Kota D'sara the night before and drove back after that). Then the doc left and the sky opened up. Uncle Toby had no choice but to make a wet entrance to the kopitiam next to Eng Soon as we seek shelter from the torrential rain. The rain was so heavy that the side lane next to Eng Soon was flooded. (As we later found out, there are other streets where the water level was at least 3/4 foot high. Something that I thot I wouldn't witness in Singapore.)
As the rain receded, we proceeded to Suntec City for the motorshow, joined by Ace99. To be frank, the motorshow was so-so only, maybe I have higher expectation as it's my first Singapore Motorshow. There were no BMWs or Audis or any German marques.
After that, Uncle Toby left while we went for Tony Roma's ribs. Jarance went back to Malaysian soil after dinner while we called it a night.
The next morning, we picked up Ace and headed to Marina South where the VAGSG group was organising a get-together and a photoshoot. They managed to get a total of 62 cars for this photoshoot. A new record for them in terms of cars attended.
The rest of the day was XXX exploring the new Vivo City and hunting for red crocodiles, DIY session for an E46 owner(a BCM lurker) to fit the fog light. Dinner started early as we lined up for an hour in front of the restaurant with its famous black pepper crab. After everyone devoured the crabs, there was no complaints on the waiting time, it's well worth the wait.
As if the crabs wasn't enough, we were treated to tau foo fah by the E46 owner after the brief drive on Orchard Road to see the Xmas deco lighting. After the tau foo fah, tau cheong sui and yau char kwai. the almost oil-less 'healthier' yau char kwai is fabulous nonetheless. We called it a night early with a filled tummy.
Woke up at 4AM this morning and started the journey back to KL. It's a tiring weekend but I'm sure everyone who joined us had a blast... Actually it looked like we were there for the food rather than the motorshow, especially with XXX on a food binge...
