Anyone who is unsatisfied with their car should write to BMW AG and BMW Malaysia directly. Make them known of the issues. I have done my part but I can't make myself heard if I am doing it just by myself.
Here are the emails:
BMW AG: customer.service@bmw.com
BMW Malaysia:
Chandra.Gandhi@bmw.com.my (Aftersales Customer Relationship Manager)
johnnie.kan@bmw.com.my (Aftersales Area Manager)

kick up a storm if they up to their discretion not to replace. Mine no question ask, straight asked when u want to replace. That time ran out of stock, now got already.TheTinkerer;812215 said:Yo bro, I raised the issue up with my dealer before I read about your thread. Just like you, I also checked only on the hinges and I highlighted it to them. They said that it's BMW Malaysia's discretion whether to change the hinges or the whole seat frame and I was like WTF? Anyway, I'll follow up with them when I'm about to send my car in. If there is no update from them, I'll be writing to BMW AG. Just skip the BMW Malaysia part. Once you write to BMW AG, a representative from BMW Malaysia will keep in touch with you.

I sent in my F30 320d for my seat pan to be changed last week, as previously the SA told me that they have some stock left. But when I received the car, I inspected the seat and found that they only painted the seat.
The joining bolt on the scissors lever underneath the seat is rusted upon inspection. I then check the hinge hidden underneath the leather seat and signs of rust too. I complained to them why aren't they changing the seat pan at all.
The SA told me its their standard procedure... -_- I told them off saying that I know many of you guys who got your seat pan changed for a new one without painting.
Coincidentally the Head of Sales is there. He told me that he will get it changed for me for sure and get the parts for me as he has some seat pans coming in for other customers.
I have been telling them about this since before I bought the car. They say they can't change the seats on their own accord before handing over the customer. It has to be handed over to customer first before filing a warranty claim.
So now, the guy told me he will skip one of other customer claim and give it to me first. (Sorry to whoever waiting to change too!)
Now, they arrange an appointment for me to change the pan this coming Monday. The technician previously assured me that if they have the actual new seat pan, the job should take only about 3hours. Is this true?
If the seat pans that have been changed, they won't paint it black anymore right?
Does anyone that have their seat pan changed have the rusted seats occurring to their new seat pans?

Your SA is just giving you bs.
They can file for whatever claim as long as your car is already registered.

crescent;814598 said:I think that they only think of just getting the car out of their stock. Does it make a difference if my car was a pre-reg?
This is Wheelcorp Premium in Setia Alam.
Anyway guys, I just got back my car on Monday afternoon. Guess what, they did not change my seat pan!!! What they did was just to repaint the portion I complained that it is still rusty.
The head of sales previously agreed to change a new one for me. It was written in the service form "rusty seat pan replace" that was handed to me when I pass my car to them.
I was unhappy and raised this issue to the sales manager again. As they were suppose to "replace" my seat pan and not "repaint" my seat pan.
The sales manager gave me more bs again. He said that "Even if I change for you a new one, the same problem will still occur. So the best solution is to just repaint to prevent further rusting problems"
I said that even the bolt on the hinge is rusted. He said that the rust is just the top layer and can be removed with sandpaper.
Of course the rust can be removed with a sandpaper, then there will be more rust develop on the surface again. Am I suppose to sand it off every single time? This will cause the bolt to thin down and eventually fail, say 4-5years down the road. I do intent to keep this car for a really long time. If I'd want to change the car frequently I'd buy a Jap car with higher resale value. -_-
Does anyone who had their seat pan replace get their seat rusted again after some time?
I will be making a complain to BMW Malaysia. I saw these emails in the post.
BMW AG: customer.service@bmw.com
BMW Malaysia:
Chandra.Gandhi@bmw.com.my (Aftersales Customer Relationship Manager)
johnnie.kan@bmw.com.my (Aftersales Area Manager)
I can just write in to complain to these email addresses? Also, any details I should include inside?
Thanks!
