Well regardless of what marque you buy if your workforce have the 'tak apa' mentality you're bound to end up with a cars that come off the line with problems

wonder what the quality control people actually do at the assembly plant. i still have stickers in my car which say checked and passed inspection surprisingly none of them are under the seat which means they didn't even bother checking beneath.

That's probably because people usually don't look under the seat, so the chances of any poor quality issues being spotted is (was?) fairly remote. The more time those QC fellas spend on inspecting the car, the less they have to makan-roti, minum-kopi, talk-cock, sing-song mah. Haha

There is bad news to bimmer in Korea.

The story began that some of bimmer found serious rust on the bottom side of seat. It was not happened eventually... after all, they found that some production of new F30 3 series has born in Rusty bottom side of seat.

The problem was that BMW & BMW Korea did not recall this parts, they treated it cleaning and taking rust preventative only. A lot of bimmers were angry for the deal.

So yesterday, one of bimmer who has rusty F30 3 series has stroke in front of BMW office .. paint spraying "RUSTY BMW" on his car. Don't take it easy ... It could be your car. What about your car ? Here is an avidence.

- We confirmed that it is rusty on front seat frame of some of new 3 series and 1 series which being released before Nov. 2012.
- These released 58 cars of 1 series in Oct 2012, some of 5006 cars of 3 series from Feb to Oct 2012
- Seat frame made from steel "Fe", under rust preventative but in this case, we confirmed it's out of rust preventative the part in red circle and we patch it from Nov. 2012
- This is not effective to running the car, but we will work on rust preventative to new 1, 3 series which released Nov 2012, if we found it.

So it looks like Korea also has the same rusty seats issues. I wonder why only Malaysia and Korea and not the rest of the world? Haven't heard of such similar complains from the US/UK bmw forums.

Glenmarie will be ok with exchanging the parts... just got the confirmation. But what other things that BMW malaysia is willing to change ?

Radio noise - will they change anything ?
Squeaking noise from the window behind - will they change it ?
Loud Air-con noise - Change ?
Loud knocking sound from engine bay - Change?

Sent for loud knocking sound = they said its normal however did some tuning to it hope to reduce but for me it's the same.

Rusted seats = waiting for order of parts

Wind noise = replaced the rubbers at all doors, I haven't had the time to test it yet.

ah im glad im not the only one..i have the same 3 issues after picking up 328 demo from quill.

1) knocking sound from front right absorber (gelunk...gelunk) when going over potholes
2) rusty seats
3) lousy wipers, it doesnt wipe at all during light rain, jumps all over

but overall...it doesnt distract from the fact that the 328 is a brilliant car
