Protect Vehicle against rolling ..whats going on..please help!

Hi all..My car suddently appear 'PROTECT VEHICLE AGAINST ROLLING' when i reverse a car and change it from R to D , gear knob led shown gear automatically change from D to P immediately when i press a pedal to move ..i've tried to change back from P to D but again its change to P and cannot move.After a few second ( nearly 1 minute if not mistaken) its back to normal. What is going on with my car? Please advise..my car is 525i M Sport LCI 2007. Thanks

The problem is that the Drivers Door is not properly closed or in other words it it opened, it can be either one of the 4 doors is not properly locked and you will notice this problem and when you reverse your car it will Change from 'R' to 'P' ,but i just wonder why yours is changing from 'R' to 'D' normally it will change from either 'D' to 'P' or 'R' to 'P' when any of the doors is not properly closed and the Warning Sign will read 'PROTECT VEHICLE AGAINST ROLLING'

Thats why i was surprised when you said it Changed from "R" to "D" didn't read you Changed it by your self....but its not an issue...this is one of the safety measures to make sure all doors are properly closed before driving:top:
