Greetings, fellow forummers,Would like to know if anyone has done the conversion from the CCC to CIC? Would like to find out if the systems can integrate into BMW authorise service centre's diagnostics machines, should there be a failure of control units after conversion, can the programming still be carried out at the authorised service centres as well? Or is it advisable to stick to UK/MY CCC system. My current car is running on a Japanese CCC.Thanks.

This is a very Ambitious and daring attempt :top: I salute you bro!
I'm also having. Japanese CCC and was thinking to do that before - then I asked myself - why on earth do I want to change it? What do I want from my CCC??
Then I got my answer - I want to have GPS, DVD and radio function - therefore, instead of changing I went on the interface route before adding reverse camera, DVD player and Garmin gps module. The only thing that I haven't completed is the local radio station but there is now solution in Bimmer Coder aka princevick who can get it done in 15 min :D now I only have to find some time to set appointment with him.

Now ask this golden question - what do I want with my E60???

Hi, Thule. Thanks for the feedback. You've made a good point there. Whether it's feasible to spend that amount for the conversion. Furthermore, the major hesitation that I am facing is the support, should any control units fail on me, the technicians at my workplace are not able to do any programming works on my car. Interface wise, I've done the works with external HDD compatibility, front and rear view cameras. Only thing missing out is the GPS Navigation system. Just to get an idea, how much did your GPS Navigation Module cost and does it integrate well with the current iDrive system? In terms of input, what method does it use to enter the destination?

Since you have the interface already.. Installing GPS unit is a breeze as it's connected directly to the interface and then appear in the iDrive. I'm using Garmin gvn53 (already 4 years old). Not sure if other modules such as Papago can be installed since it requires touch screen. E60 iDrive can't use touch screen.. So you'll need those module that uses remote control. Not sure if current Papago has remote control feature or else you can go for Garmin.

Accidentally posted before completing my post :D
Anyway, Garmin should be in the region of RM1500.. But since I haven't inquired about this for ages, you might want to check with ICE guys. I see that you are from KK so I'm not sure where to get it. If you are in KL or PJ, I can direct you to my trusted ICE guy in Damansara Utama - FYI, my E60 is currently there to fix Gladen sound system which is direct fit for E60.. Plus Alpine MRX-V60 5-channel amp to power the speakers and subwoofer underneath our seat. The stock sound is too weak without bass :top: can't wait to get my car tomorrow morning

Bro,
I'm all in for E60.. Not really into F10 leh :D
Should I grow tired with my E60 in the future, don't think will go for Sedan car anymore. Might go SUV route :top: will see how!!
Hope you enjoy F10 :D

Greetings, Thule.

Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. May enquire on the GVN53 Navigation Box here. There's a Garmin store around here. To do up the car in KK, there are limitations here as we don't have stores like what yous have in West Malaysia to customise the car. Do keep me informed how the sound system works ya. I'm pretty sure you're excited to get your hands on the car ASAP and try it out!

Reporting live from inside my E60 - I'm testing the Gladen sound system with Swedish House Mafia's "don't you worry child"... It's up to my expectation so far :top: bass was good and sound was tuned by the guy to balance between all genre of song. I'm lazy to tune the equalizer all the time...
Don't expect the quality to be in par with specialists like Rainbow, Etons or even Focal. I just want to say that Gladen performance was good enough - could feel the bass and sound was definitely much better compared to the stock speakers.
I'm pretty sure right now there's newer Garmin module to fix onto your car, bro E60MSport :top: do check with the KK counterpart. All the best and hope to hear from you soon again

Hi there, Thule. Glad to hear that it sounds better than the original Hifi Loudspeaker System. It's good that you have a professional to do it for you over there. Pricey upgrade? Checked with Garmin and it's still the GVN53. Am awaiting on the pricing now. Hopefully it is not as expensive as what it was before.

Just the 5-channel amp, Gladen sound system and installation charges cost me RM4700.. I've checked outside and it definitely cost more than RM5200 so consider I got myself a good deal :D
Actually I can get the amp (MRX V60) for less than 1k on eBay but the thing about electronic is that you can't be sure if it's 100%. even if it's new, what if it's faulty? At least I have someone to hold responsible should there any problem.
