Greetings fellow members and forumers of BMW Club Malaysia. It has been a while since I last posted new topics in this forum - well I have no reason to post anything ever since I sold off my beloved White Demon (the way I called it) E60 525i to my friend on that fateful Valentine's Day 2014. It was really hard to let it go but due to some personal and business decisions, I've got to do what I had to.
From that day since, I just stayed as a silent spectator and read posts in this forum whenever I have the time. Looking and thinking back on the efforts and the mods I'd put into the E60, sometimes I feel "sayang" to sell it. However, I know that it is in good hand as my friend really took good care of it. After that day, I still got to hitch a ride in my ex a few times... lol!
All that being said, it is obvious on why I post in this thread - the topic title says it all!! I haven't told anyone about this.. well, except my wife and my family members but since this forum holds a special place in my heart (after all, this was the first ever forum that I joined) I have decided to post it here.

What you have seen here is the rare specimen of Porsche 997 Carrera S year 2010 with the specs as below:
1) 3800cc new DFI engine with 380hp with famous PDK transmission
2) Sport steering with paddle shift
3) sunroof (not really a pre-requisite for me)
4) Sport Exhaust (rare spec as this option is really expensive)
5) Bi-xenon headlamps
6) Porsche crest embossed headrest (and this also cost few k in Malaysia)

I've already paid deposit for this car and now I am in the midst of applying bank loan... if the bank approves, then I will be getting my car sometimes in March. I was planning to purchase a Turbo model but it was year 2008 with Tiptronic S (5 speed transmission) and old engine... the idea of a 500hp turbo was very tempting but upon test drive of Carrera S, I knew that I did not regret my decision.

Once everything is confirmed, I will keep this thread running...

Congratulations on your new sweet ride bro!

Looking forward on your updates here...

Congrats bro!

You might also wanna consider the yellow 458 behind it. Bulk purchase maybe got discount.

Nice ride. Congrats on your new acquisition. Would be a nice contender if getting the turbo one instead, but with tiptronic 5-speed only and an old engine it is quite a turn off. The 5-speed manual would be fun tho hehe.

I would imagine your 2010 Carrera S with PDK and new engine the ride should feel lighter, better handling and more fuel efficient.

LOL... If I happened to have the budget, I would have gone for 458 already  but first of all the ground clearance for Ferrari is too low for me given that I live outstation and the road up to KL are full of potholes and very wavy... and secondly I'm a very practical person who look at the overall maintenance of the car... I'd done homework before deciding on Porsche because its maintenance is generally lower than the Prancing Horse and Raging Bull. And most importantly, I have a budget to follow... or else I'd go for the newer 991 Carrera (620-700k) or even the older 997 Turbo PDK (680-700k) already.

Too bad most car importers will not bring in those with manual stick... I'm a huge fan of manual car! Having said that, PDK shifts faster and more efficient than those manual cars out there... I know because I'd already tested it on DUKE Highway.

The next logical steps for me would be:
1) Change the stock rim (somehow it didn't look right on this car or maybe it's just me)
2) IPD Plenum to bring out more horse power from the engine
3) At least a spoiler as this Carrera looks weird without one (again, maybe it's just me)
4) Body kit... I always want to be a bit different from the rest so I'm looking at Techart or Misha right now.
5) Stainless steel braided brake hose... Goodridge would be a good one
6) Ceramic Pro coating with 3M car wrap to avoid stone chip or scratch

again... all of the above require additional investment

After almost a month... I can finally confirm that I'll be getting my Porsche after all :) my loan has been approved and now they are in the midst of doing number plate interchange. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be able to get the keys by end of the month! Since they are doing servicing and touch up paint complimentary, I'd asked them to change the rim color from silver to gunmetal and the effect? Pls give your comment

I'm thinking of getting the bodykit done as soon as I get my car... Well, at least a spoiler. I've surveyed the market and have shortlisted two options - GT3 or Techart bodykit. I'm going to have 2 color on the car... Preferably orange strip on the rim and at the side of the car, side mirror, part of front bumper and spoiler.
More updates soon...

Congrats Thule

Do update us on the cost of maintenance ya. If it's not as bad as what ppl say.. I might be seduced to walk the same path one day..

Darker shade of gunmetal wld go better with the car imo

Let me know if u wish to join a weekend short drive whatsapp grp. Most r regular BMW pilots, but some hav moved on to ///M, Porsche, AMG, Maseratti, etc. Admin is our CM Soulfood.

I've spoken to a few workshops... all of them told me about the same thing - if general maintenance ie. engine oil + filter it's between 500-800. Suspensions are RM8000 (pre-GST) for Bilstein... more expensive if you take OEM. Brake pads and sensor are quite expensive (so does the tyre) but it all boils down to our driving frequency and style. The rest according to them "jarang kacau" compared to the Prancing Horse and Raging Bull.

On the rim, I was at the car dealer today (Sentimas @ Jalan Gombak) to pass some documents and take a look at my ride.. it looked awesome in my humble opinion. I don't really like too dark but it's just me. And yes... Of course I'd love to join weekend short drive or breakfast with fellow enthusiasts but bear in mind that I am based outstation so it won't be all the time.

Do let me know

Ok guys! A little update on my side - I've been searching up & down and browsing through every available website for body kits to fit my 997 C4S. From Techart to Misha, GT street, I've finally settled for GT3 body kit..

These pictures are taken from the net to give some idea on how it looks like. I've found a shop in Sunway that offers GT3 rear bumper to accommodate my quad PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) rather than having to modify the exhaust to the centre.
Plus techart side skirt... I'll send my car to get it fixed as soon as I get the keys. However I am still in the midst of sourcing for spoiler... Ducktail is definitely out and I don't like the current GT3 spoiler which is too "high" to my liking. GT2 also out as too aggressive.. Was thinking to go techart spoiler (either type 3 or 4) but originals are too expensive and over budget for now... I'm still in the hunt though!

Sent my baby to Redzone this afternoon for the bodykit and spoiler.. Found Techart Type IV spoiler to fit on the C4S... And I'll travel to Taiwan from tomorrow until next Wednesday so updates will be from next week onwards

Good stuff, can't wait to see the end result. Have always thought all Porsche's comes with spoiler and nice bodykits as standard.

Yes... stock 911 is too docile in my humble opinion. Or maybe it's just me who prefer it to be sportier and aggressive? I just want my ride to be a little different compared to those out there. Hmm... Anyway, Porsche is famous to make all nice things as options rather than giving them as standards. So I felt lucky to find one example who has PSE, Porsche head crest and sport steering (I would have ticked these boxes if I were to buy new unit).

I've received pictures for works on my baby 3rd April 2014. They have started to fit the front & rear bumper onto my car and the initial pictures looked promising. I love how the bodykit looks on it :) enjoy

The whole day was spent to make sure the body kit fits the C4S perfectly, after all they are replicas and some slight modifications are needed. From the way it looks, the car will be primed for spray paint by next Monday (Tuesday the latest).
I did mention by concern on the spoiler as I spotted one uneven part when I handed over my car on Wednesday. And they promised to look into the matter. And so from today's pictures, a beauty is going to reborn soon
