:listen:...managed to secure quotes from all three proposed hotels (Awana Kijal/Swiss Garden/Hyatt). I am now into the second mode (second round) of negotiation for rock-bottom discount. I will post the final cost (for all 3) latest Monday afternoon and you guys can discuss/delibrate and revert. :top:

greeting bro ..... together with choq, we have tried our best to get the best from Awana Kijal and I believe we hv managed that. However I am still trying to lobby for the room rates be inclusive of breakfast.

For the OM and CG alike, append are some of the activities line-up for you guys to propose to the "working bulls " on wht the preference would be like.....

1. Golf
2. Team Building activities (telematch / in-house treasure hunt / Youngirl Trekking  / Beach Nite Trekking / War Games & Obstacle Course)
3. Water-sport Activities (Jet & Water Skiing / Banana Boat Ride / Parasailing / Squid Rigging / Fishing Trip & Boat Ride)
4. Out-door Activities ( Fire Flies Watching / Kampung Tour / Durian Trips / Nigh Market / tennis / Racquet Ball and Archery)

nb : Sorry guys but Snorkelling and Skodengling is not available at this point of time

I believe sssman and company (once done vetting thru the quotes) will post the total cost (which I believe is "minimal and VALUE for MONEY") for all to ponder/consider :top:.

bro, can you pls pm your official email address for me to mail you the full quotation from Awana Kijal?

Warmest regards.

There are various routes to Awana Kijal guys. The 2 best possible routes for the Drive team to take would be the coastal route (passing Cherating and Chukai Town) and the other is the inland route (taking Federal road 14 after exiting E8). The exit point will be at Federal road 3 via trunk road T120. That will take you passing all the white sandy beaches before reaching Awana Kijal.

Will try and google the map and post it later or maybe you guys can take it from here and do the needful ...Just my 2 sens ....

Was previously staying at Awana Kijal for a night back in November 2010, and it was quite good. If not mistaken, got jacuzzi in the room as well. Too bad my room wasn't facing the beach. :p Buffet breakfast was quite decent as well and I believe it will be a hit with the members there.

Was reading up on Dzul's suggestions on the route there, and would like to say that back then, on the route from Kemaman to the resort, one part of the stretch had roadworks. But it's one helluva nice road, bar the uneven roads and potholes on certain stretches, especially near Kemaman town. Also need to be wary of lorries plying the route...

It was great driving past Cherating and seeing all those Keropok Lekor stalls on the roadside. :top:

Have a great trip guys!

:top: u r right there man ...but its a bit better now (the inland road) but still a few places scattered with port-holes. Even with daily up-keep, those 14 wheeler ply thru it 24/7 making it tough to maintain it at all times....
my vote would be a the coastal route, slower but safer (to our beloved udm) ... anyway, it will be an off day on Friday and Saturday there, so the traffic should be manageble ....:top:
