The price is quite reasonable now. I got mine for RM375/pcs at Bavarian Auto. You need 2 pre-cat O2 sensors. So, total RM750.

herbert;592481 said:O2 sensor (lamda) is the most neglected item coz even it is deteriorated, the engine will still run but not at the optimum level. But then, O2 sensors are pricey in Malaysia (for e39 with BMW logo made by Bosch RM1,200 each and OEM by Bosch RM520.00 each). Bought mine online from a USA site for USD 69.00 each.

Changed 2 nos of pre-cat 02 sensors which according to him is more important then the post-cat.
Bro don't mind to share what's the difference between pre-cat AND post-cat 02 sensor ?
Thanks and Gong Xi Fatt Chai.

Sometimes when my engine really cold upon starting the engine slightly vibrate. Not smooth. Sometimes engine check light come out. Plug in my PA Soft 1.4 scanner and I get this message in DME module
"Oxygen sensor heater after catalyst bank 1, open circuit"
It indicate that the Post cat sensor need replacement. Send the error message to eBay parts supplier I was recommended with this unit
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...584&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT#ht_1912wt_854) at USD74.95 per unit. About RM235. Shipment cost reasonable as i ordered other stuff as well. Advised to replace both units
Note : O2 sensor come in pair...2 for pre/before/front cat and 2 after/post/rear cat
I wonder where there is an indicator where is the Bank 1 located so i can still keep sensor from bank 2 which is still working. anybody can advise this?
On the other note about engine slightly vibrate when its cold. I discover that when you run live data from the scanner, the O2 sensor is going through the "heating" process, good sensors heat faster so when some did not "heat" at the same time, its gave wrong reading that makes the engine misfire. Once the engine warm and all the sensors "heated", the engine stable and no engine check lights out. Live data will mark each sensors.
You can live with spoiled O2 sensors but your fuel consumption is not consistent. The longer you wait to replace it, the more you loose money burning unnecessary petrol. Unless you hardly use your ride.

my n42, msport coupe has 5/ o2 sensors
3/called regulating lambda probe & 2/ lambda monitor sensor (as per realoem.com)
by changing all the 5 sensors, someone quoted me at rm 3.6k inclusive labor for OEM Bosch.
is it ok for me to change the 2 lambda monitor sensors first then followed by regulating probe later?
whats the diff between regulating probe & monitor sensor?
