Recently my hands are getting numb from driving my 520d. Can even get headache. There is a high frequency vibration coming from the engine even at idle. At the last service, made a complaint to the SA at TS Ipoh. But after service was told all normal. So I suffered in silence. Then today went to TS to check on their 520d for similar vibrations as it is becoming unbearable. Definately not the same high frequency but a low frequency and very mild vibration only. Not the type that will make your hands numb or give you headache. After pointing out the difference to the Sales chap(Service Adviser on training course), contacted the SA by phone and was told to come back next week for a good check. Hopefully no more numb hands and headache from driving my 520d soon.

Get them to check on the engine mountings and all necessary bushings.

+1 Check all your mountings, alignments etc... Good luck!

Take it out for a hard quick run, might clear some carbon buildup and smoothen out the engine?

I think too many hard quick runs already. That is why the engine mountings kaput and leaking! That is what TS Ipoh found out when I send in my car today to check. But no spares and have to wait until Wednesday or so.
Surprise about the short lifespan of the mountings. Wonder whether it is made in China.
If I have not taken the effort to repeat my complaint and point out the difference between their test drive 520d and my ride, they would have taken the easy way out as they did during the last service about 3k ago when I first complained. Their SA's answer then is that according to their mechanic "all normal".

Got my car back from TS Ipoh this afternoon. First impression much better but not perfect. Need a good run tomorrow to know.

Had similar experience after sending the car for first service. Sent it back again. Same bullshit and told them off. But the vibration on mine is really bad that the agreed something is wrong.

Mine not the mounting issue. they adjusted the steering shaft or rod. It is much better after that.

Mine now much better but my left hand is still getting numb. Will send it back again next week to check further. Thanks for pointing out the steering shaft or rod which may cause this problem.

Went to TS Ipoh today to get them to test the vibration. Both the SA and the technician agree that there is still a high frequency vibration causing the left hand to have a tingling numbness. Even resting the left hand on the centre console arm rest can cause the lower arm to feel numb. Suggest to change the gearbox mounting but have to wait for stock from KL.

mate, suggest you also see a doctor for this, If strong vibration can cause you to have tingling and numb sensation, You probably have certain degree of " wear and tear" your self like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

hahaha, no doubt that I got wear and tear after driving about 4 decades. Thank you Dr. Will take the good Dr's advise.
But my ride is definitely not in perfect health and my mates who drove it also have the same complaint.
