It's hard to get tyre in kuching. Just changed mine to Sumitomo 205/50/R17 for 380/pcs including balancing, sound reasonable?
U from Kuching?

I have been using the Eagle F1 GSD3 for the last 8 months.... Got the German made on the rear and the Thai variety on the front. So far I am very happy with the grip in the dry and wet. Can't really tell the diff between the German and Thai at the moment.
Seems quite enough and quite comfortable too....

Would certainly by them again!
For the price, I will certainly choose these over the Dragons

Whilst, PS2 and CSC2 are most certainly excellent tires, they sure do cost a whole lot more....

wat is ur tyre size now??

225 45 R17??
sorry late reply..out of town.

now using 225/45/17 front and n rear 245/45/17. Existing tyres in very bad shape. Got vibration when trvelling at 140km/h

Zamri, don't forget to consider Dunlop Sports MAXX as well. Changed mine about a month ago, so far so good. Noise and handling very much improved from my previous tyres, Fulda Carat Extremo. Highly recommended by TireRack, ranked first or second on the list (this is about a month ago, not sure now).

I got mine in Kch, shop opposite Longhouse hotel, set of four cost me 2200, including balance, valve and Nitrogen. In Klang/KL probably a bit cheaper??

Forgot to mention, mine 235/45zr17.

Anyone knows what is the price for Toyo T-1R and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD, size 225/50ZR16?

tested hankook today rs-2 .....the grip is unbelievable. worth the buy.....that item is next on my list

Just installed my Toyo T1-R on Saturday after a 3 week wait but the tires are fresh out of factory 9th week of 2006.

First impression is that the tires are noisy and is at least or even worse than my worn out Goodyear NCT5.

But the tires do have good grip and directional stability.
Only odd thing is that my ASC light came on when I was rounding a corner at around 90 km/h while still accelerating. My expectation is that the ASC light should not come on since this tire is supposed to offer better grip than my NCT5.

With a treadwear rating of 280 which is even better than the NCT5 at 240 it is supposed to last longer but I really have serious doubts about this claim. I be happy if the tires lifespan is around 40K kms.

Just my personal and limited experience on toyo t1-r.

Whr got fair brother..comparing NCT5 with T1r :nyehehe: ..NCT5 are build for comfort le..whr as comfort is not priority in T1-R..you are comparing passenger tire & ultra performance tyre..like an orange comparing to apple....

Just change my rear tyre from Bridgestone GIII to Toyo T1-R...I can say it is much quieter & softer sidewall comparing to GIII got very noisy & stiff sidewall mayb tht explain good cornering...

BTW...from my experience...T1-R does not feel like a ultra performance tyres.. :D just my 2 sen onion...althought thy claim it under UHP category...

Fire, now all 4 are T1Rs? Got stock oredi ha?
I almost bought Toyo T1-R tyres today but changed my mind as the tyreshop was mounting the first tyre on my rim, as I noticed that the maximum permissible pressure for Toyo T1-R is only 300kpa - my E46 325i requires between 310-330kpa if I carry 5 passengers and luggage and that would exceed the Toyo T1-R's maximum permissible pressure!

I bought the Eagle F1 GS-D instead as it has a maximum permissible pressure rating of 350kpa.

I notice most Jap tyres have a maximum permissible pressure rating of 300kpa only. To get the 350kpa rating, one has to get European tyres.

My Eagles are too new for me to report on, but they seem a tad noisier than my previous tyres ie. Continental CSC.

Hi fire,

Well you got a point here. I was making this comparison just top of my head. Don't have money to buy other UHP tires (read: Michelin Pilot PS2) to compare mah :D. I was also told that goodyear tires is very noisy when worn.

Anyway the T1-R tires are good and I like it. If the wear rate is good I will definitely buy them again. In my opinion very good value for my money at least for now unless if they last less than 25K kms.

My previous falkens (I forgot but I think the model is Ziex 326) lasted less than 25K kms and I spun once on them :( .

In what ways do you think that the T1-R is not to be considered as a UHP tires?

err....i went to Klang, looking for tyre. I'm using 225/45r17. Ask for any tyre below RM400. well thats easy since SO2 and Avensis also selling below RM400. but then they tyre shop shown to me, Maxxis tyre, they want to sell it cheap. err.... is maxxis tyre good? how bout noice? i never heard of this brand. anyone use it before?

thanks ...
