What's is yr problem anyway..??? Mechanical or what?? Any problem could be solve but how and when depend on what "penyakit" on your car. Senang cerita, convert to Jap's engine..:banghead:

bro, you seem to be the unlucky one. From day one, you already facing problem with your car. Have to change so many things and have to do overhaul. Fuel consumption also very high..

Since you already spent so much money on it, might as well spend a bit more to get the car back to good condition again.

The last mile is always the hardest.. Find a reputable workshop if the existing workshop cannot solve your present problem.

bro, what year and engine type is your ride.

Can give the history of what you did to your car?

Why did you need to overhaul your ride?

What have change so far?

High FC could be just due to poor combustion. Maybe O2 sensors or MAF problem.

Do you erratic speed at low RPM? It you ride on MAF or AFM?

Is your engine M43 or N42 engine.

The more information you give the better some of us can advise you.

Bro, i will send u some infos abt my car by 2moro, coz i need to get my bill for tat.

And wats the meaning of MAF or AFM?

fuel tank minyak should get more than 500km bro..

1) air intake (throttle body and air filter kotor)
2) spark plug ?? got carbon deposit ??
3) faulty O2 sensor signal low voltage to the ecu and ecu automatically keeps adding fuel to yr engine
4) fuel filter clogged
5) injectors dirty ??

And wats the meaning of MAF or AFM?

MAF = Mass Air Flow meter
AFM = Air flow meter

Usually E46 used MAF whereas E36 use AFM. However, some E46 still use M43 engine so may still use AFM.

AFM and MAF both measure the air volume flowing into the throttle body. MAF use two wires heated up to ense the air flow whereas AFM use vane to detect the flow.

AFM have a tendency to be sticked up at fully open position. When it is fully open, it give the wrong signal to the ECU and hence will cause idling speed problem. Similarly, MAF have a tendency to get coated with dirt and cause the reading to be in-accurate which also cause the idling speed problem.

If you have low power at low rpm, chances could be the following:-
1. chocked fuel fuel filter.
2. faulty pump.
3. faulty plugs
4. O2 sensors

There are many things affected fuel consumption. If you can listed up what you have done, maybe we can shortlist the likely cause.

There are many lemon BMW out there in market. I rather buy higher price BMW from direct owner wt all receipts & records. BTW I spent more than 40k aredi for my E46 in a year.

DONT GIVE UP ! I used to owned E36 328, i've have spend RM20k-25k for 4 years just to maintained and changed faulty parts. It is easy because i never check the car condition b4 i bought it, and i was never have any experience on BMW. 2010 May i bought E46. Reason why i go back BMW ? it is because BMW, if u compare to Japanese cars, same price range, u wont find the confortability, high tech, stability, styling in those japanese car. Any car will have problems especially when it become older and older, it should be fix in order to spread it to other place, well taken care. This is how u sayang ur girlfriend or wife :D

TRUE ! Just like perryyip73 said, DONT GIVE UP ! i spend 6k(since i bought it from March 2010) on the problems which i believe is the 'wear and tear' and few rattle noise 'here and there' as its 2001 model... Now its just nice and LAYAN to drive...

1. For cooling system, you have not change the 2 nos. thermostat when you change the hoses. Usually we change them at the same time.

2. Have you service or clean your MAF? It is a simple DIY job. DO a search on this forum for the procedure.

3. You have done a top overhaul but you did not change the air filter? Why?

4. Why did you not change the fuel filter as well? What is your mileage clocked?

5. Have you checked your fuel pump pressure or the condition of the fuel pump? You can use Test No. 6.0 for the BMW E46 On-Board Computer check codes. The right tank should be 2 to 3 time higher when the fuel tank is about half mark. I have a similar problem with my E36 where the power is hesitant at low rpm. change the pump and the power came back.

6. What type of engine is your bmw? You can check using the last 7 digit of your Vin number.

7. Do you see any white or black smoke at the exhaust when the car is warm up.

Wuyoooo...!!!! Kuat tu bebbb..!!! My car with 1JZ vvti engine can go more than that..:top:. Maybe something wrong somewhere with your engine. :stupid: By the way, for sure there have a solution how to resolve this problem.

If u interested to transform your engine to Jap's, the cost is depend on what type of engine u likes. Roughly estimation cost are around RM 8 k to RM 15 k inclusive gearbox.(all in):listen:.

Better u call this no. 016-9228848 (Ah Ho) or his brother 012-9015152 (Ah Loy). They also could check what's your engine problem. To me, change engine is a last solution in case nobody can resolve it. :101:
