Just did my engine oil service yesterday and I was recommended by my friends to try out this workshop Performance Werkz in USJ 1 that carries Motul 300v series engine oils and also the Motul LL-04 specific engine oil for BMWs. Overall service and workmanship was really good and saw a few bmw turbos as well...Very nice customizing and fabrication work there. Anyway, I tried the Motul Chrono 10w40 series :top: and the car felt really good! Much better acceleration and response. Revs climbs so much smoother compared to the usual Castrol Ive used. Price was a lil pricey for a 2L bottle @ RM165.00. But its well worth for its performance! Has anyone tried out Motul before?

the price is double of castrol edge fully syn., in that case why not u stick back to castrol and change it every 5000KM knowing that u will be using a new oil every 5000km rather than still using same old motul oil from 5001-10,000KM.

totoro... I use Castrol Edge Sport 10W60 for my M54. I found that engine bay become very hot. So for next oil change, plan to try 10W30 or 10W40.

I was using TWS 10w60 and i find it sluggish at high revs.

Im worried of using off shelf castrols because ive heard many stories of fake oils.

I still change my oil every 7,500km.

give Q8 F1 10w50 a try, i never look back after trying it (previously I tried castrol edge 5w-40, redline 10w-40 & royal purple 10w40)

Maybe you all might want to try out valvoline Durablend 10w50 / Vr1 racing 10w/40. heard from my friends feedback saying its better acceleration and response.

where to get Valvoline Durabland ?
Love Valvoline when I was in US, but Durablend is a semi-sync, but pass ACEA A3 spec.

I find Motul's engine oil have less "cleaning detergent" that require for regular stop-and-go road vehicle :)

Anybody tried Castrol Syntec 0w-30??? Can it be used in our cars (M54 engine)

technically any oil can use in any car, provided the weight of the oil and spec fall within manufacturer requirement.
You can, but probably not long drain interval.

provide me the link to specification, I can tell you.
The simplest way is to have LL-01 , or minimum LL-98 if you really worry.
