"TYRE DEFECT" will appear upon reaching 50-60kph, steering wheel vibrates like a massager.
Is the steering vibrations caused by the DSC getting confused by the different wheel speeds from the different wheel sizes?

Haha...tell me about it...LOL! I was on that E60 rims when i sent my wheels for refurb in SA. For 1 whole week i was forced to be in the slowest lane where ever i went. Can only do 50KM/h on that blardy wheels.

The centre hubcentric was bored out too much and like you said steering wheel will turn into a massager anything above 50km/h. Too bad i couldn't push the CSC 3 tires that came with it to the limits :-(

I know the 16" can never clear my fronts but didn't know it can clear the rears M5 brakes.

Wow, nice cross-drilled bbk!

Even with the massager-like steering, I still rempit, politely. You may have noticed, once the speedo reaches 3 digits, all is good, massager disengaged :). But yeah, not safe to do so for an extended period of time, worrying the shaking is still happening elsewhere than the steering.

It's the center hub problem.

S$180 during a group buy several months ago. 2 sets for RM915 shipped to doorstep.

Any of our local shops selling these and how robust & reliable/accurate are they after some period? Just curious and if reviews are good, I may just get a set for my ride...

I'm not sure if the same item is sold in any shops locally but was told $180 is "very reasonable price".

The built-in battery in the tyre-valves' sensors have a 7-year lifespan, according to the product description.

So far the accuracy matches the air-pump readings at the gas station I frequent.
It's not until I got this TPMS installed that I realized the tyres are 35psi cold (approx 25C) when I pumped them at 38psi hot (approx 40C).
Depending on tyre temperature, I'd fill them up to higher or lower psi accordingly, from then onwards.
I check once every few days and never leave it power on much.

HE'S finally in the workshop today.
The stuffs arrived from Deutschland 2 weeks ago. Oil seals & gaskets. He may have to spend 3 days 2 nights at Hotel Optimum (some say 6 star car hotel), at the price of a Junior/Corner Suite probably (some say maybe Presidential Suite)
After that he'd be going to skin specialist for minor touch-ups and front-fenders swap.

As of last week, sent to workshop for the following maintenance/replacement:

oil sump gasket, all power steering hoses, rear axle oil seals & housing gasket, and while at it, change engine oil (>5000km covered already!), LSD oil.

Total damage RM5.3k.

Sent the car to the paintshop that did my 6-potter last Friday.

As of today, 23 Oct 2012....

Alas, spray-painting shop boss George gave up and decided to respray most part if not the whole day. I shall leave it to him.

This means he's not coming out anytime soon.
It's now entering the 3rd week that he's away from home :2: :46:

Bro, I think you photograph the wrong bumper lah. The one in the left center of the photograph doesn't look like it came from a BMW. Only the right one is your rear bumper.
