Guys,Check this out. Car detailed during the recent Malaysian Auto Dream event (about a month ago). After at least 10 washes and without applying any wax or polish, the mirror effect is still there. Just wash with water also boleh...ekeke....my air brush looks good eh? :p

is it also because you just had your car repainted that would make a much notiecable difference?

that and also the car was sanded to remove the 'lemon peel'.... must give credit for the surface preparation....

Hmmm, wonder if the shine can stand the dusty conditions near the Perwaja steel factory. Since I will be cumming to this place often, at least once a month, I am not sure if I should go to HB to pamper my babe. Do not want to waste my money if the dusty conditions here plays havoc with the shine.

Probably the key factor is the fact it was resprayed about 3 months back. That allows the molecule to be broken down easier thus having a smoother surface. Then again, chrischy car had the same shine despite his 10 year old paint....now that's a showcar!Flash, I don't supposed the dust will affect the shine....you just have to hose down your car when dust accumulates and give it a gentle wipe and QD it....then it'll be as shiny as ever....

Just found out it is not just dust only, it is a cocktail of dust, oil and chemicals... a concoction which can destroy the paint of the car. Worse yet if rain gets mixed with the dust and not washed away pronto...Looks like I have to get another old junk for my Kemaman trips. Drive my BMW from KL to Kemaman, park it at a friend's place in town and use the junk in Kemaman. That way I can save on the wear and tear on my BMW.Or perhaps a cheaper option wud be to get a car cover... but it wud look weird, a covered car in the factory when even my boss is not that fussy! Of course mah, he uses an executive bus for his Kemaman trips.

flash, that gives you more reason to protect your paint....slap on a thicker layer of wax and those oil and dust particles will only remain on the surface...I think.Kemaman? I have a fren working for a big transport company travelling very often to Kemaman too. But he uses a company car....ekek...

Okido, just got myself a car cover to protect it from the dust when I am not using the car... believe this wud be the more cost effective method. Shud have got the cover days ago... just cost me RM17. :D

Kev, kev, wud you be able to accommodate me next month??? Need to do up my car for the CNY.

Be very careful when you are covering your car with the car cover....may add on a few scratches if you pull it over too hard....ekek....I agree with mrhartge....our weather doesn't go well with car covers....

Well, I was very careful not to drag the cover across the car... it was either the risk of getting more scratches or getting the paintwork damaged from the "evil" concoction released from the factory. In fact, my paintwork is spotted in areas due to chemical reaction between the dust and rainwater.Looks like I may have to go to HB earlier than I thought.

Flash,I'll only detail your car if you stop driving it to Kemaman.............ekekekeke

hahahhaha...DD ..your airbrush job is very convincing ler...guys ,.. mine also still prevails man even with regular rain and shine drivin ...cheers :D

:( Man, that is a tough act to follow... looks like I may have to get another old BMW which I can trash around... in Kemaman. The current ride wud have to stay in KL...

Flash,May I suggest an E28 or E23 for their comfort and cruising abilities. Nice examples can be easily procurred for under RM10k.
