It's not that loud, just slightly louder than stock, a bit more bass than standard but it does reminds me of my brother's former stock standard E36 328i. The standard E60 exhaust is quiet compared to the older models. My brother oso had an E39 528i with AC Schnitzer rear muffler and that is louder than this Jetex.

My wife only realised that the exhaust was different 5 days after installation, hehe, when she drove uphill and noticed that the car had a bit more oooomph, then she also noticed the sound a bit bassier in the Ikea carpark, hehe...

I drive a 2005 E60 523i, what kind of improve performance would I get with a Jetex Performance Exhaust ?

Mine is also an '05 523i N52 like yours. All i can say is there is some slight improvement noticeable... Noticeable especially during hard acceleration and going uphill. Sorry no dyno figures, just butt dyno feel. My other mod is the K&N drop-in filter.

The pleasure is all mine, Derek. This 523i sorely needs a bit more power, in standard form with only 174hp, it struggles sometimes so the few extra horses that just came in is very welcome.

There were times i wish i had opted for the 218hp 525i but still ok lah.

Identical mods but with power box chip, which I am sure will give added boost.

Bro.. the system change right from the manifold to the muffler?? stock exhaust trade-in or customer to bring back??

hi bro,

no, the Jetex exhaust only cover the muffler/backbox. the rest unchange. this is because stock already running double pipes from manifold to midbox. so, just changing the backbox/muffler will do.

thks.

I strongly suggest that you change only the rear muffler instead of the whole exhaust :)
