Bro, pls share/PM which professional body provides 7%
It's not necessarily professional body. If you're an employee of certain companies, you may also get fleet discount. For example IBM, CIMB employees all get 6% and I'm sure there are more companies that have this. Just check with BMW if your employer has a fleet agreement with them.

I have known of corp fleet discount of 6%.. professional bodies are a first for me... best of all can get additional 1%.. curious which professional body that was, but seems secretive as reply was very general.. anyways its his prerogative whether to share or not.. SA also never inform when I tested the car.. will definitely check with the SA when I had the time...

If you are a lawyer, accountant or doctor and are registered with the Bar Council, MIA or MMA, you may be entitled to a fleet/corporate discount of between 6-7%. You need to check with your Salesman. Mercedes also got similar promo.

Pricing wise, I think the 530e will be priced at about RM350k with all the options thrown in.

However, I couldn't wait any longer so I took the plunge.

As for the CKD E Class, it was never an option for me as I don't fancy the Mercedes.
good on you bro.. congrats again on your new ride..
Merc was only a CKD/CBU price comparo..

I believe these are BMW Malaysia programs, most likely BMW rebates it back to the dealer? We used to get 5% but when my colleague got his F30 last time, he manage to get the dealer to apply 6% (max for corporate fleet discount) for him. Not sure how it's done but potentially possible. Maybe you can check with the SA and I don't think they will be very strict about it as long as they can somehow prove the fleet discount.

The corporate discount that I got is for lawyers.

http://www.barcounci.../Oct/index.html

It's only available for purchases based on full list price and not in conjunction with other promotions or discounts.

Also selected model. The X5 Hybrid, no corporate discount available.

Hi All,
Delivery of my G30 either this Friday or Saturday.
Anything that I may need to check?
Tips & Advise, if any.
Thanks!

Normally the SA would go through a pre-delivery checklist, where he'll show u what is where, how to use it etc etc.... Take ur time to scrutinise the car front to back, inside out, as once u sign on the dotted line..... its ur responsibility only.

Visually, check for scratches (if any) on all surface, including tyres n rims. Ensure the necessary tires are at properly mounted (especially if ur on a staggered setup). crank up the aircond to see if its cold. look at the fuel gauge (if the SA promised a full tank!). inspect the engine bay. inspect the tint installation (if they provided the tint). all booklets in place.

keep on asking questions, no matter how dumb u think it is. remember, the SA has to get u to sign on the delivery papers. Dont rush this, as if anything is wrong, u can still refuse the delivery.

Best of all, take lotsa pictures.... then upload here and start ur thread bro.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

The new BMW 5 series was unveiled in October 2016. It was made available to the press for test drives in Portugal soon thereafter.

It was "launched" officially in the flesh to the public in January 2017 (ie last week) at the Detroit Motor Show. It goes on sale in UK, Europe, US and Australia in February 2017, ie in a month’s time.

The CBU units scheduled to arrive on our shores in Mar/Apr 2017, with CKD following suit later this year.

Two salesmen from 2 different dealers have informed me that the indicative price for the entry level 530i will be about RM360k - RM390K.

i am told that dealers are taking bookings for the G30 now.

I also understand that the CBU 530i will probably not be an Msport model. We will most likely not get any diesels due to our B10 biodiesel policy.

The 520i seems to be dropped, so entry level petrol engine will be the 530i which will use the newer B48 engine with slightly higher hp and torque than the outgoing 528i.

There will probably also be a 540i but that would likely be prived closer to RM500k being a 6 cylinder twin turbo.

An indication of BMW Malaysia's models and options may be deduced from the 730i and 740i being currently offered.

The 530e, due launched in UK/US in March will be interesting but due to the backlog in the X5 hybrid, we will probably need to wait 2-3 years before it hits Malaysia.

That would mean 2019 or 2020. With the introduction of the G30 5 series literally around the corner, I suggest to the moderator that a new thread on the G30 under 5 series be included in the forum and this thread be moved there so members can share information on this car which poses to be the most exciting BMW this year.
