currently using azenis ST115 now(2 months old)....

dry = good grip + low noise
wet = no good at all....do not drive above 90kmh!!

Wifey is on cs2 and i'm on so3...both ada pros and cons, though i feel so3 has a slight edge overall. conclusion: japanese tyres are not inferior to the european makes. with so much talks bout ps2, perhaps i should give it a try next time around.. anyone knows of good deal for ps2 18'?

Good good.....everyone else...more views on this please...?...

Autofuture in DU can get them for Rm1k installed IF there is stock for 18's. The shop next to JPBs office also can for 1k if there is stock from the dealer.

My wife's car is on Bridgestone RE040, and I ran the previous Pilot Sport 1 on the BMW for a few years. In comparison to PS2, they are hard, noisy and not as supple as the PS2...

AD07 i used before , pretty good but noisy after 10k km. uneven wear tend to happen in S03 and AD07.

bro, AD7 has extremely good dry grip with its big blocks ...is like semi-track. A premium to pay appx 30% more and be ready for tyre noise ...sports tyre are not comfy nor quiet, if u had such preference in mind :eek:k:

Some info on AD7: AD7

ylkhor

thanks for the advice...so personally if i were to have to choose between ps2 and ad7...which is better....performance wise...im not really bothered about noise really..i just want good sticky set of rubbers in dry and wet conditions :D

Cheers :D

For those who are looking for performance plus value for money, try Hankook. Other than that go with the Preceda, I have been using this for awhile, phenomenal grip on the dry with extremely good wear rate. For 225/45/17 its less than RM 500 (around 450 to 470) a piece. Yeah its made in Sawadee Land but I am sure Michelin have stringent QC control and so far my experience with it has been pleasant. :)
i am using pilot preceda 225/45/17, its quiet and good wet grip. i got it for 420/piece in klang

I wouldn't fret too much about which one has only marginally percentages better rating than the other, but the data is very good to let you know which are desirable ones based on what traits you look for and which ones to stay away from... Looking at the results for some of the models which I have tried before, i'd say the ratings for the categories are very realistic. Makes sense as the ratings come from actual user imputs instead of being influenced by sponsors heh. I've fished out Max performance and Ultra high perf categories. There are other categories below these as well for tyre comparisons sake.

Max Performance Tyres - Compare

Ultra High Performance Tyres - Compare

chubby, AD7 would be my choice, i find it more value for money. PS2 abit pricey. I would also recommend new Falken 452 or Dunlop Sport Maxx ...the japs are getting better.

if u wanna take corner kau kau, tyres is only one of the factor (although is the biggest one), u also need to look into overall suspension such as springs/absorbers, ARB, bushes, etc...

tyre + springs/absorbers = better than average handling ...+ more stuff = extreme.

then again, must have alot of balls to take hard corners on public roads, be prepared for under/oversteering and can't go against the law of physics ...F1 car oso buang la... :D

ylkhor...noted thank you...yup im kinda liking the advans for everyday and the occasional track day maybe...so thanks for the tip...but ps2 sounds good too :D

We shall see :D
