u couldnt resist the temptation eh..
i actually feel the sound system is much better than the direct AUX jack....but dun like to look at the directory all the time to choose songs...will create a special directory for for the car-use music........

u mean as in creating another playlist or folder?
in direct jack mode u need to turn up or set the volume higher, which is annoying when u switch back to radio, but for this, everything is just fine :D

the directory im quite pleased with it, although there are much improvements to be done on the userbility

later will try pluggin in the iphone 3Gs and see if it works

Actually, there is a sound level setting for the AUX channel that you can set on the MID. It will adjust the sound level only for the AUX channel. It will not affect the other channels. So you don't have to touch the volume when you change the channels.

The way I see it, the quality of the sound thru the AUX, is already degraded by the connection. It is more dictated by your player or to put it correctly, the quality of the song, the output of the player and its compatibility with the BMW stereo syetem. The quality of the AUX cable can also affect the quality of the sound.

Given the same player and the right settings, the sound quality (if you can call it that) coming thru the speakers is about the same whether it is via the aux, or BMW cable or BMW iPod interface adapter.

I would give an iPod in the BMW only a "Listenable" rating.

yes, i adjusted tat sound level for aux, on top of tat , the volume

so basically its a placebo effect then? end of the day, still sounds like crap depending on the source itself

But it is a lot easier to control using the steering wheel buttons and the MID

on my steering i can only control fast forward or next track, vice versa, cant seem to change album from there

Yes you can. Switch to Album on the mid, then use the up and down arrow keys on the RH side of your steering wheel to select the album.

Thanks astroboy! I found it..
But not successful yet... I am having a 40GB notebook harddisk which i used to connect to the kenwood player in previous car.

However, i plug in, error in aux...
Perhaps the IN-CAR USB doesn't have enough power to spin the HDD?

There is also one USB port inside the dashboard compartment. Check it out ? this might be helpful...
