No cheaper local alternatives - I have done a lot of research into it. Basically if you want text info from Ipod on your HU plus control of Ipod remotely then use the Dension or OEM route - if not there are cheaper alternatives like the one I mentioned (USD 95 including shipping) as well as Blitzsafe (USD100 + shipping). However to use them requires sacrificing the cd changer, if you have one, as that is where it is connected.
Something like the Soundgate SDS1V2 with the applicable BMW docking station will allow you to keep your cd changer (that costs around USD100 in total before shipping).

Can it be done to my car too. E46 320i.. im just wondering how to check the year of manufactur..If i not mistaken mine is year 2002 but the Car Dealer put it as 2001 so the TAX will be lower for Recond Car..
Does the Ipod can be used in every E46 320i or different year different ipod?

Thanks

ppl want the interface so don't have to transmit via radio where the quality is crap.

Are you all looking to control the tracks from your HU or merely just have the Ipod/MP3 player linked to your system?
I am getting my USA Spec adaptor installed this weekend and linking with my Iriver (can be linked to ANY MP3 player indeed it has two Aux input so can be linked to two of them!). It doesnt give me control over the Player via my HU but I am getting it installed in Eurotray for easy access and will let you know how it goes.

Either way can oso bro :p ..as long as the price is reasonable & sound quality acceptable..both oso can..the most important is it have to be convinient...looking forward for yr feedback.. :p

yes can fit your car and use steering as remote. rm1600+700 install = BS!

Well I have my USASPEC aux adaptor installed and linked to my iRiver. It is located in the Eurotray - I can take some pics if anyone is interested. Cost of item was less than 100USD including shipping (bought of US seller on ebay).
For anyone with ipods I would recommend the DICE system from EAS. They would probably charge shipping of about 30USD so would cost around USD150 to get to Malaysia and with 09/2002 and up E46s you will have ID3 info on your HU and well as steering wheel controllability through it. Even though the earlier generation icelink as actually a better unit!

anyone knows where to buy ipod interface for bmw business?

looking for the ori one
(where we can select tracks from the steering wheel) . like in the ipodyourbmw website.

how much?

BMW iPod interface is a mono channel. So I made myself a stereo + video channel RCA input to my NAV screen.
Then I bought iPod AV cable for the RCA conection.

If the RM1600 iPod interface from BMW part number you are referring to is 65 41 0 409 608 / 65 41 0 409 609. Then it should cost only RM1200.00
