Hi, I would like to meet up with drivers who have successfully interfaced yr 325i e90 with ipod... i would like to find out in more details before purchasing this accessory.thanks

Hi Rachel. You're welcomed to see it in my car. I'll be at the Ingress event this Saturday too. Just curious though if your car has i-drive? If it does, then the interface info might show itself a bit differently.

Juan,
That's great. See you this Sat too.
Btw..this may be embarassing...
were you at Borneo last Fri...how do I recognise u ar...????

I would like to find out:

- what ipod model will fit?
- if i load a movie to my ipod, can i see it on the screen?
- if i download gps maps from the net, can it subsitute the one from the cd?
- what is the true purpose on putting an ipod with the car
- etc..

Astroboy..short form for AB ke?? 320i Sports launching next week...u can buy another :p

All I can say is once you have an Ipod interfaced with your car's player, you will never be bothered with all those cumbersome CDs anymore :)

Put in an Alpine Ida-X001 HU and never looked back. I'm happy now not having to carry a CD bag in the car and flipping through the CDs just to find the song I want to listen to.

Trust me rachel, an Ipod in the car is a MUST for any music lovers out there. Listening to the radio in Malaysia for me is excruitiatingly painful because for every 1 hour of airplay, about 50-60% of that is advertisements. It just ain't what it used to be anymore when it was actually fun to listen to the radio.

hey guys, i read from some where in this forum that a guy was complaining that the ipod interface + ipod disallow him to navigate through the songs from the idrive LCD/steering. Instead he mentioned that he connect a Hard drive to the "USB interface". i wonder where is this "usb interface" in the car? I can't find in the car entirely...

The USB interface is inside the armrest, next to the aux-in socket and 12V output socket. Most M-Sport with iDrive has it.

Thanks astroboy! I found it..
But not successful yet... I am having a 40GB notebook harddisk which i used to connect to the kenwood player in previous car.

However, i plug in, error in aux...
Perhaps the IN-CAR USB doesn't have enough power to spin the HDD?

I believe thumb drive and HDD has different device "signature".. so the iDrive may not be able to recognise your HDD..

Weird...
My vehicle is 2007 325i sport. It doesn't come with a USB! Only there's an audio in.
My courtesy car 2008 320i sport has a USB port, beside the audio in...
Does any of your car has the same config?

Sapura suggested that I add the ipod interface at about RM1600+

Thanks but RM1600 is a lot to pay for the interface... maybe i can get it cheaper here in the UK

That's correct soulasylum. The 07 Sports doesn't have the USB port but has a CD changer. The 08 Sports has the USB but no CD changer. The USB can be used with iPods or thumbdrives. O8 also comes with bluetooth interface for phones. :top:

Thanks for your info Schwepps..

i'm just wondering can i fix the bluetooth to my 07 M-sports..btw,i did called up Auto bavaria pg but still no answer from them...?they keep saying they need to check my version...

cheers...:top:

bimmer27: the answer is yes. my 325i m-sports is 2007 version. however the previous owner put in the bluetooth accessory. (lucky me). u just need to sychronise yr handphone to it. thus, u can use speaker phone and then dial numbers without pressing yr handphone. it stores multiple phonebooks.

however i hv not been lucky. software still coo-coo. i'm waiting for IA to call me to upgrade my software.

yeah bro, but there isn't any 08 325 sport in market yet right?
I wonder why they still put "CD changer" in car, what century now???
I am exploring whether they can change the audio-in to USB port in the ice-cube now...i dont like ipod..and usb thumbdrives now coming to 16GB, in a size of a lady's fingernail.

weird no2, i booked my car 3 weeks ago and they still cannot deliver...JPJ issue, chassis number issue ....getting dodgy...sapura do kereta potong?? aiya can get their warranty to extend or not....? my car is pre-reg feb08.

by the way i wonder how is ur bluetooth experience? many are not clear, with disturbance sound...so not worth it...my fren's BlueTooth in lexus is so far the best i can get...
