Why not go for the BMW Portable Navigation system aka BMW's relabelled Garmin GPS? It's an offiicial solution and integrated into the ICE as well.

I already hv that BMW garmin navi as part of my free package(among other things) on purchase of the car.

Just thought that with a touch screen DVD player, you'd hv more features on the fly than having to connect and remove the navi on every use. Also, that DVD player would b welcome distraction for my baby son

Automotive synergy has a similar in-dash entertainment oem version for merc and Vw but none for BMW yet

TBH the bmw ipad holder doesnt look extra special.it looks and functions like a simple ipad holder and by no means it integrates with the bmw ICE.

kuntake,

you mean I drive like in 325 and 5 series can be installed in 320? how does it look like bro? mind sharing pls? I'm interested to know.

thks

Guess the title of my post is a little misleading

It's not an iDrive substitute in that sense if the word but an in-dash touch screen entertainment & gps unit. Click on the link in my first post.

I don't want my iPads (plural) to integrate into the ICE, that's what noise cancelling headphones are for. Kids get their own entertainment and I get my own heheh :D

Anyway kuntakinte I looked at the picture again, I'm no expert in this but that looks like putting a 2-din headunit into a 1-din space, moving the AC controls out of the way. Are you sure it works ok?
