Danze90, i did not buy the spare parts. Its from the bill. BTW i thought somewhere near ss2 there is one spare parts shop. I always go to cheras taman maluri or segambut.
sifu astroboy....
thanks for the location of soon huat.
have read your post since 2006 at motortrader forum...
anyways i read your blog as well, very good info. i have the same problem as u , my aircond has a squeeking sound after 20-30 mins
of driving, or when drive on bumps the sound will appear. is it the blower is at fault & needs oiling?
My aircond blower squeaking was solved by DIY oiling but the blower fail not long after that, very little air, slow fan speed, not reacting to the fan speed control. I bought a regulator and replaced it myself which didn't solve the problem, a new RM600 blower did the trick. So now I have a spare regulator.. :motz:
astroboy,
i need to play around with the recirc/fresh aircond button to make the sound dissappear, its quite irritating though.
wah rm600 for a new blower....maybe later, need the funds for other stuffs 1st.

salam bro, i think my aircond emitting little air and slow fan speed too..but at night/during rain the air cond is cool, i think the blower is kong. Is it easy to DIY the blower replacement? tks
HI Dan, the recommended DIN for E90 is 80 to 90. Best not to put DIN 100 as have to reprogram entire ECU then. If original recommended DIN, just need to register new battery. Read my last few posts from yesterday for the mechanic off Jalan Ipoh who can help you register your new battery. 5 minutes job. 50 ringgit.
docrayboy,
thanks for the info, but i plan to buy those generic brand batteries, not original BMW ones.
can i just buy off the shelf & install it? its the battery registration required? what is the purpose, need advice.
thanks.
how much it costs if a DIN 80 or 90 costs if purchase @ Yau Car Care JLN ipoh?
Generic batteries are good...Century DIN88 costs about 380 ringgit. The battery shop can install for u. Best to register your new battery with Ah Yau mechanic off jalan Ipoh. See my last posts pic for his address. 50 ringgit. 5 minutes job.
i have changed batteries a couple of times and I have never had to "register" the battery before! unless you get any errors, then you need someone with a diagnostic machine to reset the error. if not, whats the point?
the only thing you need to do is make sure the key is not in the ignition, the driver door is open and the wheels are straight (if the wheels are not straight it might set off the active steering). if the active steering error does show uo, turn the steering fully left, and then right. Restart the car and 99% of the time it will go off. Its really not that difficult.
For 320i e90 din88 or even din66 should be sufficient. Try to get branded (bosch, century, etc)
Register the new battery so the ECU knows its a new battery...alternator charges at lower level...battery lasts longer and alternator too...call up your official BMW service advisor and they will confirm this . Our sifu astroboy introduced me to the mechanic off Jalan Ipoh yo get it done.
i honestly believe the whole registering battery is a load of BS from BMW to make money from unsuspecting owners. Even Land Rover says the same thing, wanted to charge RM2.5k for the battery and reprogram, the SA really tried his best to make me scared, came up with a bunch of BS that changing the battery myself or using 3rd party battery can cause damage to the ECU,immobilizer, etc. Bought a din90 battery for RM550 and changed it myself. Took me 20 mins (battery was damn bloody heavy!).
BTW the official BMW service adviser also said no need to change ATF....... Go figure
yes its basically the same. like what i mentioned in my previous post.
1)Driver door open (not sure why, but i just follow)
2)Remove key from ignition (this is a must, happened to me before, after that car couldn't start, had to call mechanic )
3)Wheels straight (if you don't do it, it might cause the active steering fault to appear. Something to do with the steering angle sensor)
4)Make sure connect the battery correctly, failure to do so will fck up the ECU
That's all I can think off. You can also use a support battery, but its more hassle then its worth if you ask me.
